PROBLEM BACKUP
« on: July 18, 2013, 11:57:45 AM »
Hi everybody.

I'm trying to make a backup of a XRC controller, but when I put the compact flash on the control and press "copy" (or "save", I'm not sure because the language of the XRC are Spanish) the XRC controller has the 3080 error.

After this, I've tried to do a backup of another XRC, with the same result.

The compact flash is a 64MB, which has been the backup support for 2 years without any problems, and  thinking that it was corrupted, I've done a low level format, without changes.

Any idea?

Thankyou!!

What software (operating system) did you format it with?  How did you format it?  FAT, FAT32, or NTFS?

My Operating system is Win XP, and the program I've used to format the compact flash is HDD Low Level Format. The format that I'm using is FAT. Tomorrow I'm going to try to format it in Win 95, with the own tool to format.

Thanks

Not all XRCs like all CF cards. Just because you formatted it with Win 95 does not guarantee the XRC operating system will like it.  If the operating system in the XRC is old or the XCP01 (main processor) is old you can't use anything bigger than a 32 Meg.  and still not all CF cards work.

The CF card I'm trying to use is the CF where allways did the Backup, and after used it in another robot, don't work, that is the reason why I suppose the problem is the format or te CF.

This is the software I use to format my cards and save a good copy (imagae) of an 8mb, 16mb that was formatted on FAT 12 or 14. Once you have a good copy that you know it works on that robot save an image of it and if you ever run on any issue with that card all you have to do is load ANY size card and it will format it into a FAT12 16mb card or whatever you had the last image saved. I noticed that most of the problems happen not when you try cards into different controllers but when you format them on computers.
This is the software (free  :dance2: )
