If you need more then 0 or 1 to send to the robot you can use the arduino + ethernet shield and use modbus library ,I used it and is working .

Do you use a "Digital input" or "Register" in the UR5e ?
What modbus device do you use ?

I am trying to connect a micro controller (Arduino) to a UR5e using Modbus TCP.
When I setup a register input, register output or Digital Output it works OK.
But when I setup a digital input it's not working( the small square icon is not changing state) .
I checked my micro controller with a Modbus simulator on a PC and it works OK.
On the UR5e installation display there isn't any communication errors and all is green.
Is someone working with modbus Digital input on a UR5e ?
Can someone please check on a UR5e ?
