  • Setting up a OPC UA server on KR C4

    Hi,

I am working on a project where I want to set up communication between Visual Components 4.0 (VC 4.0) and a KUKA KR C4 controller using OPC UA. I want to do this by setting up an OPC UA server on the controller and use VC 4.0s OPC UA connectivity feature as a client.

Does anyone have any experience with setting up an OPC UA server on a KUKA KR C4 controller? I am considering using FreeOPCUA, an open source OPC UA library that can be found here: http://freeopcua.github.io/

no, he is pinging from KRC itself... does not work like that. as mentioned, network configuration is not trivial, to check this you need to do ping from outside (use your laptop)

No. I am not trying to ping from KRC. I am pinging from an external PC.

Are you pinging 192.168.250.16 from your PC?
What is your PC's IP and netmask? They must be compatible with the setting on the robot.
192.168.1.* is reserved internal robot network, so don't use any IPs in that range. Since you're using 192.168.*.* for your external network, all netmasks will need to be 255.255.255.0 in order to guarantee there are no collisions.
X67.* should be the correct place to connect. But just in case there is a wiring issue inside the cabinet, try connecting your PC directly to the KLI port at the top of the motherboard panel. You'll need to temporarily disconnect the cable that is already there.

Yes. I have tried pinging 192.168.250.16 from my PC. I do not get contact.

    My PC's IP is: 169.254.233.250
    Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0
So my netmask is not 255.255.255.0. How should I make it compatible with the setting on the robot?

    1. Plugged into port X67.1, see picture Ethernet_plugged_1, _2 and _3
    2. I have tried pinging all the IP addresses shown in picture IP_1, _2

  • [SOLVED] Connection of KR C4 to PC over Ethernet

    Hi,

I am completely new to KUKA and the KR C4 Controller. I want to connect it to my PC over Ethernet and tried to follow these instructions:

    https://www.robot-forum.com/robotforum/kuk…r-via-ethernet/

However, I am not able to ping the controller from my PC. I think I am using the wrong IP. I found this on the controller in Start-Up -> Network Configuration, but when i ping it from the terminal on the PC I dont get a connection. To ping the connection I am using cmd and typing ping [IP]. Any tips? :help:

    Hi,

I have a problem accessing Start-Up -> Network Configuration on KR C4 Controller. I have tried all user groups but the Network Configuration tab keeps being gray and not accessible. I need to get into Network Configuration to get the controllers IP so I can connect the KR C4 to a PC by ethernet.

Anyone have had the same problem?
