Good morning.
Will be greatly appreciate if any can advise on connecting a LBR iiwa to a group of other devices through a Beckhoff PLC.
I have a EL6695 terminal for connecting an EtherCAT master to a PLC bus. The EL6695 xml file has been imported in WorkVisual and I configured a few inputs and outputs for the terminal under X44. After that I am kind of lost. I presume that the Beckhoff TwinCAT should be able to recognise the inputs and outputs in a scan but it seems like it does not work in that way. Please may someone shed some light on this. Many thanks. YJW

Hello all,
My team is looking for a method to allow communications between two LBRs for collaborative operations. We tried to use IO but the number of ports is limited, therefore, complex collaborative tasks cannot be done. We are considering to use EtherCAT instead, but a LBR is designed to be an EtherCAT master. We are not sure how two masters can be connected to a network. Anyone could share experience would be much appreciated! -
Hi guys,
Recently I did a project in which I design a vision system for KUKA IIWA workcell, my vision system is based on personal computer, windows 10 and Visual Studio, the camera is Kinect2. The image from Kinect is processed in PC, and localize the desired feature, get the coordinates and send to KUKA IIWA, let KUKA know where the gripper should be to finish a pick and place demo.
But these days I got no idea about how to make PC communicate with KUKA. As you know, KUKA uses EtherCAT communication protocol, how can I convert TCP/IP or other communication interface in my PC to EtherCAT communication protocol.
Could you share me some experimences about the conversion? -
Thank you panic mode and JLoop for the explanation. Yes indeed it cannot be controlled.

Hello guys,
I wonder if anyone knows how to control the pneumatic outlets (IO pneumatic flange) in Sunrise? I checked the operating and programming manual but it did not mention anything about the pneumatic part, although the part about electric IO part is quite in detail .
Much appreciated! -
Hi all,
It can be shut down properly now. Problem solved!
It was because the power in the new batteries was not sufficient. After a whole night of charging it is fine now.
Thanks Panic mode for your information anyway! -
Hello, all.
I am not sure if this happens to any of you before.
My KRC4 compact could not be shut down in a controlled manner and kept warning 'Battery or battery fuse defective - backup not possible' every time I turned it on. The voltage of the two was 10V and 3V respectively. I thought it was because of the low voltage that caused the problem so I replaced the two batteries to new ones which gave 12V to 14V.
However, the controller still cannot shut down in a controlled manner and the warning message was changed to 'Battery defective - load test failed'. I wonder if anyone has a similar problem? Thanks! -
Yes please!
