Do you have to be connected to the physical controller via Ethernet cable or can you do it on robotstudio and then transfer it?

I'm trying to find a way to make separate users on the ABB IRC5 flex pendant. I don't want or need the operators going into other areas of the flex pendant. I noticed that you can log off the default user, that's why I ask is there anyone that can help with this issue?

i did read that post but i tried to calibrate the robot like it said and i dont have access to anything while its in the system fault state

Hello I'm looking for some advice on an issue that is occurring with one of our IRC5 robot controllers. The robot is refurbished and hasn't ran production due to not being fully installed. I am getting an SMB communication error which is putting the controller in a system fault. I cannot calibrate anything or do anything with the controller. I called the company who sold it to us and they sent a replacement board. I changed out the boards and turned on the controller, but the controller stayed the same with the system in fault and showing the same error. If anyone can give me some advice on what to do. Thank you.

So i recently found out that I have to replace the backup battery unit for an ABB S4Cplus robot controller. My question is where is it located and do i change it while the robot is on or off? Please can anyone help.

I tried to upload a separate program that i wrote in robotstudio and apparently all the flexpendant takes is a pgf file? is there some way to convert the rapid module file to pgf so the flex pendant will take it?

so we finally got our IRB 2600 in w/ IRC5 controller. I got to programming and noticed that there were no I/O's. I scanned the devicenet and it said that it was successful and found the address of the input card.I go to all signals and still nothing showed up. I check the I/O devices and it is connected. I need help. Do I manually put that in or if it finds the I/O card shouldnt it find all the signals coming in automatically.

So we got our irc5 controller all ready and running and when i go to program the inputs and outputs are no where to be found. I scanned the devicenet and it did find the address and the name of the input/output card. Still when i go to i/o's page and put all signals nothing shows up. I check i/o devices and the device surely is connected. Can anyone help with this problem?

sorry that I did not clarify what I was using it for. It will be used for machine safety. I'm kind of new to programming and have never setup a world zone and would like to know where to program that.

Were getting ready to install new IRC5's onto our die casting floor. I would like to know how to set up a world zone. Can anyone help?
