I was able to backup the maintenance data again, but I'm not exactly sure what caused it to stop working before and start working again. Thanks for your help.

Hello,
I have a Fanuc R-30iA which I am trying to make a backup of. I am saving everything to a compactflash card using a PCMCIA adapter. I have backed up this robot just recently, but now I started getting a message "Device Function Code invalid" whenever I try to backup the Maintenance Data. I have tried different sized compactflash cards. Any suggestions on what this is referring to?
Thanks!

Hello,
I have a Fanuc R-30iA on a separately-controlled robot rail (not 7th-axis, but controlled by PLC). I would like to stop the robot if it is moving when, for whatever reason, the rail is not in one of its two positions.
I was planning on using a conditional monitoring program that is enabled at the top of each motion job and turned off at the bottom of each, that would monitor an input to the robot from the PLC that would tell it if the rail is in one of its two positions.
If this condition happens, I would like to stop the robot and abort the program, so that the robot will home and not continue its current job after resetting.
I was wondering if there is a better, cleaner way to do this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

hi, i'm try to using the visual tracking gpm tool to detect an object over a pattern belt conveyor? (belt has same some pattern) Is there away to teach the background to be a reference so everytime the object on the conveyor it will find center based on the background? Also is there away to use blob with visual tracking? how do we send origin and angle data to the robot?

Where would you apply the offset found by the third party camera (a user frame, an offset pick position, etc.) and how would you know which part in the conveyor tracking queue goes with which offset found by the third party camera by the time the part reaches the robot if there are multiple parts between the camera and robot?
I hope that makes sense. -
Has anyone used a third party camera (cognex, dvt, etc) or sent a position from a pc to a fanuc robot for visual line tracking? Is it possible to synchronize the third party camera offset with the track sensor in the fanuc to know when the upstream picture was taken to know where the product is now? I was thinking possibly to use a photoeye to both trigger the camera and start the conveyor tracking, but since there could be many parts on the conveyor at a time this doesn't seem like the best option.
Thanks. -
Hello,
Can you please give any specifics on how this is accomplished (i.e. - the setup in the Roboguide software, the connections and options needed, how data is transferred from teaching pc to robots, etc.) Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
