  • Kuka ArcTech Power scource not ready

    • Serpantinas
    • May 19, 2017 at 10:09 AM

    Okay,

    To Panic mode:
Comunication is working fine, drivers on, comunication established.
    To SkyeFire
The signal is digital input 5, it lights up for a short time when I try to feed wire, but nothing happens. But if I press wire feed button few times wire comes out a bit sometimes.

    Now what I find out.
I got this comment from Esab:
"I know that KUKA have problems to set the remote on with an output, because that signal is a pulsed signal, the signal needs to be a steady signal"
    Attached output maping.

    How I understand communication:
    1. Firstly controller asks if power source is ready(sending output 8 in this case). When I press wire forward output 8 goes TRUE for a second(I think this is the pulse signal esab talks about).
    2. Power source sends that he is ready (input 4 in KRC4) which also goes on for a second the same time output 8 from the controler sending true.

Ok so i set output 8 TRUE mnualy(ask is it ready) and as expected welder sets input 4(respond that welder is ready) to TRUE. And now I can feed wire freely.
Now I can bypass this problem(power source not ready) like mentioned above, but I want to fix it properly.
So my question is how can I configure output lenght or type in WorkVisual4.0, I need that when I press wire feed forward it sends constant output 8 as long as I hold the button?

I don't know if everything is understandable, but I tried.

I have checked the arctech configuration, got the file from esab describing inputs/outputs and compared it with description file and everything matches.
I'm suspecting this might be option in esab power source interface. Maybe someone here worked with esab equipment and know what parameters needs to be setup in U82?

    Hello,

I'm trying to connect Esab 4004i pulse power source to my Kuka robot, i have configured project in work visual and outputs seem to work fine, when I turn them on manualy I get wire feed working. The problem is when I try to use user keys I get this error: "Wire feed error - power source not ready"
Probablly I'm missing somethng simple, because this is my first time setting up a robot.
    Any help would be great!

    Hello,

I have made a new project in Work visual 4.0 with an ESAB 4004i pulse power scource. Connected inputs and outputs, and when I trigger output 4 wire feed works, but status keys for forward/backward wire are grey(inactive).

Maybe someone know what I could have missed?

    Hi,

    I'm also new in robotics.

well first thing that pops in the head is NAO (it's good), but it's very expensive. And look for more than 8 servos (4 for legs and 4 for arms is not enough) robot if you want to achieve somewhat realistic motions (maybe around 14 servos). In our university there is one student built(

), but it has no interaction like camera or mic.

It depends on what you need, if your more into programing then look for open source board, I think most of them are preprogrammed and you will probably use some kind of library to program new motions.
If you want, you can buy a car with some kind of a gripper and a head and program that from scratch, mechanically this would be easier and you can achieve basically the same results like object tracking and voice commands..would be easier and you can achieve basicaly the same results like object tracking and voice comands.

I would go with my own build but if you want to program one then look for open scource and a program language you understand, also if you want to do video recognition there shoud be some kind of image procesing you can work with.

    Hello,

    I have KSS 8.3.22 KRC4.
Having some problems with calibration. Here's my setup for calibration and tool(1pic). And what I get as a result after tool calibration(2,3pic).
Smallest error I got was 0.9, bet even when I rotated around B(less than 90 deg) my real tool tip rose about 5mm.

Is this sopposed to happen??? After transportation I had a message that "axis2 has to be mastered", I did reference master because I couldn't see any visual movements(and I don't have EMD). Can my caibration be troublesome because of this?

Hi, and thank you a lot. Everything went as you said without any difficulties(only one thing, I had to update arctech on my KR C4).
I don't have a weld scource yet, but making a simuation for an exibition.

    Hello once more,

I hope I don't bother you too much with my basic questions.

How to insert a weld scource in the project? Manual sais there should be a OPTIONS tab, but I dont see it.
Do I have to instal some kind of library?

    Hello,

I've tried to ping the controller from the laptop through the different networks (And I miss typed my KSS it is KSS8.3).

First time I have connected my laptop directly to the KR C4 (from my laptop ethernet port to KLI).
Got 3 messages "Destination host unreachable" and one "Request timed out".

Second time I plugged the controller to our work network and plugged my laptop to it and got all messages "Request timed out".

So as you told it's network fault. Do you have any suggestions how this can be fixed? Maybe something turned on or configured in the controller?

    Hello,
I just wondering how to load a project from a controller(KRC4). When I start new project in the Browse tab there is no active controllers(I have connected my laptop with KRC 4 KLI). I have tried to search via the IP but still no luck. I am completely new with workvisual so it migh be something simple I am missing.

  • Aray modification in .src

    Hello,

    KR C4 cabinet; KSS 8.2

I want to ask for a programing advice.
I have made declaration in .dat file of an array consisting of 1001 possition variables. I want to know can I modify it in .src(cut off last 500 of them for example)? Or can I make an empty possition somehow?

    Thank you in advance.
