I think this was mentioned before but I couldn't find it anywhere. Thank you.

Hello,
I was wondering is there a possibility to make lin motion to go faster than 2m/s.
* As far as the axis velocities goes currently they are working about 50% as they go in this lin motion at 2m/s (the motion mostly is A1 motion with extended arm so axis doesn't need to work as hard).
* The accuracy is not important here. I can have +-3mm from path.
* KRC compact KSS 8.3.37; KR10 R1100 sixx
* I'm asking because i'm lazy and don't want to add a bunch of PTP motions which are hard to predict and will make a messy program
* The programming is done via MxAuotomation, but knowledge how to make it in KRL would be helpful as well

The tool calibration may affect the weaving direction, and also in the ArcTech settings you need to setup tool direction. If you have a sample robot easiest way would be to compare tool X,Y,Z, and calibrate accordingly.

Then I guess I'll use what I know works fine and for now it's just inconvenient, not a system breaking. It might be that this is how you close the gates or it got worn a little(i'll need to investigate this when I'll go there), because during programming this didn't happen.
Thank you for the replies.

Hello,
I need some of your experience about safety.
I have made few projects with safety where safety gates are opened quite often(all of them uses X11 with SIBstandart). With some of them I get dual channel safety error quite often, resetting the safety removes error.
1. Project with custom made gates with troax lock (440K Safety Interlock Switch); KSS8.3; KRC4; KR180 R3200 PA (safety error often)
2. Project with Satech gates with Troax lock (440K Safety Interlock Switch); KSS8.5; KRC4; KR240 R3200 PA (safety error often)
3. Project with Satech gates with Satech lock (Schmersal AZ 16-12ZVRK-M16 Switch); KSS8.5; KRC4; KR240 R3200 PA (safety error very very rare)
Do you have some similar experience with safety switches?
Maybe it's how Kuka interprets signals or maybe it's my wiring?
Does anyone has some recommendations about safety switches that work well with Kuka?
I noticed that on KSS8.5 resert safety error button was added in the menu for easy access, I figured maybe this problem isn't that rare.

Hi,
I'm not sure but I think there is german version of this forum, so I guess you may find more luck there, because most of german speaking specialist will be there.

For me +Z is away from the part. My logic is that if you point tool down to the ground, +Z should point up, because it's matches standart coordinate system(I always bump the tool if it otherwise).
I'm new in robotics (bachelor degree + 1 year experience)

I think you should ask what ABB and Fanuc (or integrators in your place), if it's your only chices, offers in this case.
If you are planing to integrate this robot yourself then this task ain't gona be easy and user friendly. If it's your first robot I highly recomend to hire an integrator. For other to provide any advice you need to describe your case in more detail.

Hey,
If you measure voltage when battery is disconnected, 12V batteries should be around 13V when charged and now you have only 12V which is practically discharged, but I'm not pro in this field so my advice is to check with someone if battery is dead or just discharged.
-
Hi,
Yes, the last message seems to be because of low battery voltage (see attachment).
I don't know how all the wiring in the cabinet is made and can low battery voltage cause emergency stop errors, but I think you should check the battery voltage first and if it's bad and can't be charged anymore change it. -
If you simplify a lot there are two ways velocity works: linear(continuous path (CP) and PTP (Axis)).
linear speed is set by m/s
PTP set by axis velocity by %
For linear speed you can set gear velocity limits(%), but can't set linear speed (m/s) limit to PTP motion.
Examle: if you rotate the tool around TCP, then linear speed is 0 m/s, but axis speed can be 100%, sometimes you want to limit that. And check out this manual, I think it can give you a lot knowing your background: https://www.google.lt/url?sa=t…Vaw09ANLb_nlX2EjNHjyBDLNz

Actually, those few line describe the difference as clear as it gets(thinkig about pencil exampe makes it even better)
-
Hi,
if you would be using PTP motions with the same tool the motion would be fluid, without CONT it would stop at the middle point.
Not sure how would it react when you'll make tool offset based movement(maybe it will stop the advanced run, then motion would stop).Don't know what are you trying to achieve but you'll get only A6 rotating. I would make it with PTP_REL {A6 90} movement, but I don't know the details.
Don't know if this was helpfull but have a nice day! -
Thanks for the ideas.
I can stop the conveyor, but i don't want to use vision system. I was thinking about mechanical solution with a guide(with a spring) to straighten out the coils and distance sensor(yellow) to determine coil size, but I can imegine cases where this will fail.Other option is to make people put coils in the slots(belt conveyor with separators).
-
Hello,
I have a problem with coils on a conveyor.
The situation: Different size coils comes on a conveyor and robot need to pick them at the end, the problem is that they can come near each other and I don't know how to separate them and feed to robot one by one.I could think of complex solution but maybe your genious minds will think of something simple. Don't bother too much though.
In the attached file there is a conveyor with possible coil placement.

I think you have project(configuration) and wiring problems. Is it used robot? If so what info, manuals did you got? Where robot did came from?

You can display keyboard by pressing button 13 (attachment) and I think you can insert empty line in USER group (90% sure), also you can try to use keyboard to add comments, but I think you need expert to type symbols, but I'm not sure about this also.
-
You also can press ENTER don't remmember if you need to be logged as expert. And for more complex operations I would use Orange Edit, If you have all the points recorded you can copy program and edit it on PC which makes it easier and faster.

First thing you should do ir check the voltage in the batteries (don't know the exact voltage they should have, but others may know or you can find it in manuals).
I think if it would be something with fuses it would be instant after you turn it off, not a day after.
