We have it working. One of our technicians discovered that if we used slot 10 instead of slot 1 like the manuals say and the way our other forty robots are programmed it now works.

SO instead of configuring our DIO as 89-1-1 we now have 89-10-1 and under the ethernet IP we have connection #1 as false and connection #10 as true. It now communicates with the PLC instead of giving me incorrect size errors. I am not sure why slot 10 works and not slot1. Makes no sense.

I have tried 101 and 151 with port 1 and port 2 and it says wrong connection size.

I have tried 102 and 152 with port 1 and port 2 and it says wrong connection point.

I tried another LRMate (we purchased two identical robots) and it does the same thing.

I even tried a different Allen Bradley PLC and still get the wrong connection size error.

I guess I will have to call Fanuc.

Tried this and also tried the Fanuc robot AOP instead of the Generic and no luck.

Strange that when I set up Host Comm I can ping the PLC 172.1.2.125 but when I go to the Ethernet IP connection and ping it says Invalid Host.

Tried doing a software update from 8.30/P26 to 8.30/P64 and no difference.

I have an identical LR Mate on the shelf and I guess I will get it down and hook it up and see if that one works. If it does work I will do an image backup and restore it on the one that doesn't work.

I have tried both ports. I can ping the robot and the robot can ping the PLC. I have talked to Allen Bradley and they haven't been much help. They suggested i go back to RS Studio version 24 instead of 28 but it doesn't make any difference. I get the same fault.

Anyone have any ideas before I call Fanuc?

I have 4 in both the input and output instances. I have tried going all of the way up to 16 words in each and still get the same error.

I have a used LR Mate 200iD robot and I am trying to set up an Ethernet IP connection. I have read that with he R-30iB controller you have to use port 2 for Ethernet IP. I have it setup with the robot as 172.1.2.127 and my AB compact logix PLC as 172.1.2.125. I can ping the PLC from the robot and I can ping the Robot from my laptop and the robot shows up in RSLinx

I have a generic module setup in the PLC with 101 4 words , 151 4 words and 100 0 words.

In the robot I have 89 1 1 setup for 1 to 64.

I looked this up on Allen Bradley's website and they said to try doubling the size so I changed them from 4 (16-bit) words to 8 but I get the same error.

If I check the adapter it shows 4 words for input size and 4 words for output size but it just shows ********* for the scanner IP.

We have an older LRmate that only has one ethernet port and we are trying to use the same settings but we always get the same error.

Yes it is. Runs ok, probably 1000 cycles by lunch time. But when they come back from lunch the green run light is off.
There are no messages on the pendant. All they have to do is press the green cycle start button.
But what is dropping it out of run mode????

I have a robot that drops out of run mode when it is idle for a length of time.
When our line stops for lunch when we start back up we find that the robot is no longer in the run mode (green light is off)
There are no faults on the teach pendant and the fault light is not on.
All we have to do is press the cycle start button and the robot will run until it is idle for an extended period of time.
Is there a parameter or variable that cycle stops the robot after a certain time?

We have a large cell with 7 robots. I have configured a central HMI to cycle start the robots using Ethernet IP UOP. I would like to be able cycle start using the green button on the controller also. Now I have to use the pendant to go in and change from remote to local in order to cycle start it at the individual robot which is a pain.
Is there a way to have both remote start through UOP and the green cycle start button active simultaneously.
These are M-710iC robots with R30iB controllers.

I taught the point as a Joint point, not a Linear point. That is why it is confusing that the 4th axis is not returning to the taught position.

We have some brand new M-710iC/50 robots with R30B controllers. When we teach a joint move position with our other robots the robot will always return all 6 axis's to the same position when told to go to that position.
On these robots after we teach a joint position and then move the 4th axis (which turns the end effector) when we tell it to go back to the taught position the 4th axis stays turned and the 6th axis rotates. The end effector is in the same position as taught but the 4th and 6th axis are not the same. This is a concern because when we return to the taught position normally all the axis's return to the position as taught and keeps all the cables from getting wound up.

Any ideas. I thought any taught Joint move always keeps the same configuration when returning to it.

After working with Fanuc we found a solution. The automation company had a programming error. They had a programmed a UOP "paused" signal to activate the UOP "stop cycle". When I put a Test pendant enable contact in series with the UOP "paused" input I can now single step forward and backward.

If anyone else has this problem you can test it by going into system config and disabling UOP and then see if you can single step. If yo can then you have a PLC programming issue.

Just got done loading the latest level of software and it did not help. Still can not step through in single step mode. It stops after completing each motion move and I have to arrow down to the next move. If it calls up a sub routine like :open Gripper: it will not return to the main program. I have to select the original program and then arrow down to the next line after it called the subroutine. What a pain. I am working with Fanucs support but not gion?etting anywhere.

Any one have any ideas?

Has anybody come up with a solution to this issue. I have the same issue on 10 new robots (M-10iA and LRMates) with the latest software V8.10P/03.
Single Step stops when a program is called up and won't return to the original program. Called Fanuc and they said they have never heard of this issue
and to check with the integrator.
