I got this in a KUKA machine data manual:
Description: Default filter for PTP
This variable contains the filter value recommended for PTP movements. The
filter can be used to smooth PTP movements.
The default filter is active only if the filter value has been assigned to the system
variable $FILTER.
Syntax: $DEF_FLT_PTP=Filter value
Filter value Data type: INT; unit: ms
The value must be an integer multiple of the interpolation
cycle (12 ms).
