    EDIT 18/10/2018

    Since people still PM me asking for RobotStudio 4.0 before reach the end of this topic, I think it is time to make some updates on this post.

    First, the method described below doesn't work anymore. ABB changed their site, so I don't know any way to download older stuff from there.

    Second, the link to download RobotStudio 4.0 is this one here

    ATTENTION! THE METHOD DESCRIBED BELOW DOESN'T WORK ANYMORE.
    ================================================

    In fact, is still possible to download RobotStudio 4.0 from ABB site, but is a little bit tricky.

    First, you will need to create an account on https://myportal.abb.com

    After you are logged, click on "SolutionsBank", or "Go to old MyABB" (see screenshot abb1.png)

    If you clicked on "Go to old MyABB", from there, click on SolutionsBank

    You should land on the SolutionsBank page, shown on screenshot abb2.png.

    From there, you can find some old ABB software, as RobotStudio 4.0 or QuickTeach.

    If this backup comes from an S4C controller (or above), you can take a look inside the backinfo.txt file. Normally, the information about the robot controller are there.

    In the worst cases, you will have the BaseWare/RobotWare version, so you can try to guess which kind of controller is:

    3.0 => S4C
    4.0 => S4C+
    5.x => IRC5

    And so on...

    So, in a VKRC4, with VSS 8.2.20, is possible read the numeric value from a process parameter (PROCPAR).

    But, is possible WRITE a value on it without dabbling with VW_User or regular KRL?

    I mean, is possible to write a value to a process parameter (p1, p2, etc.), using VKRL syntax or, better, writing the values inside a folge or a UP, using the instructions given by inline forms?

    I've already searched through all menus, in expert mode, on editing mode, but I didn't found anything. And the documentation isn't clear.

    Hi, all.

    I have a big curiosity about the meaning of some parameters that are in the header of a TP program.

    I know the function of some parameters. I guess the function of others, and some are really mysteries for me.

    For example: CONTROL_CODE

    In most cases, the value is always 00000000 00000000.

    But, in some special circumstances, I've found different values in programs where the robot is using an RTCP. And programs that are generated offline, mainly on Siemens Process Simulate, normally comes with other values.

    Other example: FILE_NAME

    At first, I've thinked this parameter was sort of a redundancy, as the file name is, in fact, declared in the /PROG statement. But I've noted if I upload two files, with different names, with different /PROG names, but with the same value on FILE_NAME, the second won't upload. And I'm talking about a R-30iB with V8.20 software.

    I've already searched in my manuals but didn't find any concrete information about this variables and its uses. Is there any special document where I can find this?

    If the S7 and the controller doesn't find the board, I think the solution is swap it.

    BUT, did you try search the board with these other Siemens tool, like Proneta or PST?

    For curiosity: is a VW FANUC?

    Would someone know how to use inline form in the WorkVisual ?
    check the picture, how did it ? :hmmm:

    Wich version o WoV is this, irobot?

    I remember to see this ILF on older releases (2.1.x), but since 2.2, I think KUKA removed this and favored the snippets insertion.

    Hello, guys.

    VW and KUKA are little bit crazy about the WoV relese used to configure its controllers. So a certain WoV version must match a certain VSS version.

    For VSS 8.2.15, the right version is WoV 2.2.2 #150.

    WoV 2.4 or higher aren't recomended. Normally it works, but I heard something about unstable systems (althought nobody told me the real that could happen if You use a newer version of WoV).

    If you deployed a 2.4 project, You won't be able to change this project on 2.2.x (the formats are different), and the best way is create another project, from scratch, with the BasisProject that came with the robot, when KUKA delivered it.

    Hello, guys!

    Does anyone here working in Volkswagen Kaluga plant? Or have a contact working there?

    If yes, please PM me.

    Aha!

    VSS 5.4.7 is VKRC2 ed05 software.

    The expert mode on this VSS is a little bit tricky.

    First, you will need a third file inside your keyfiles folder, called ExternalUserList.config

    Second, by default you will need two usb sticks attached to the controller. The first one will be recognized as drive A:. The second one will be recognized as drive E:, and the robot will search for the keyfiles folder in this last one.

    If you put only one usb stick, the controller will find only the drive A:.

    You can change this configuration after, with KRCCONFIGURATOR, but I don't recomend do this if this robot is still inside a VW plant :winking_face:

    Hi, trunkcnc.

    Normally, the expert cd for VKRC2 have a keyfiles folder with two files inside: key_1.txt and key_2.txt.

    But key_1.txt is intended for VKRC1, so your key_2.txt should work.

    So, your expert cd isn't working? Or your cd drive? Because, as you wrote some posts ago, all you need is a cd with a folder called Keyfiles, with two text files inside.

    Yep. I've heard about someone in a VW plant here in Brazil performing some tests with WinXP in old VKRC2 cabinets. But normally you only run XP on newer ed05 cabinets, because you had some hardware incompatibilities, and so on.

    Hey, trunkcnc.

    If your robot is running Windows XP, so it is a ed05.

    But the best way to check this is the VSS version. 3.3.x are for old VKRC2 (with Win95). 5.4.x are for the latest ones (with WinXP).

    Hello, trunkcnc.

    For VKRC2 ed05 (this one that comes with XP), the procedure is the same, but instead a CD you will use a usb stick. And, if I recall correctly, the keyfiles folder for theese robots should have three files.

    WorkVisual is under massive development. Since I first worked witha a KRC4, in 2011, I've collected 12 different versions of this software! And I know there are more. And I didn't touched a robot with KSS 8.3, yet. :smiling_face:
