Hi does anyone digitised the ABB S5 Pocket Guide.
I have the S4 one, but was wondering if somebody had done the S5.
Thanks

How long ago was it when you used ABB robots?
In MIG/Mag welding in ABB (which I assume you are talking about with regard to welding) you can setup all the parameters for initial ignition, voltage and current during welding and end crater control using Seamdata and Weldata. With the weld source being driven by these values, however in the real world mostly the gun orientation speed and distance from the object being welded is left to the tracking ability of the robot chosen and merely a program number sent to the weld source which initiate and automatically controls the feed rate, current and voltage for all aspects including start conditions and end crater control if needed.
I usually use SKS equipment and Fronius for welding each has its advantages and disadvantages depending on what you are trying to weld. SKS developed a system specifically for automatic robotic welding which very flexible, Fronius has still to catch up but saying that it is still a very good system.
I would be interested to know what products you intend to theoretically weld.
Hi,
Do you still have this for sale and which country are you based in
I know its a bit of a long shot but does anyone know where I can get hold of a ABB IRB 2400F/16 with M2000 S4C+ Controller 20,000 hrs in the UK.
with 4.0 software.
Thanks
Ian
Hi,
It sounds like you should look at the ABB "Simple User Guide 4.0"
This is a basic programming and description manual for beginners.
I would strongly recommend you read it
It gives all the basics plus a few simple program examples, which may help you.
I think its already on the forum, if not I can send a zipped copy its only 2.2 Mb
This early type of ABB only has the ability to store its program using a floppy disk drive.
The programs are simple text format but using the extensions *.MOD *.SYS and *.PRG. The manual above takes you through the procedure for saving your program to the disk drive.
Editing them is easy using "Word", "Notepad" or "Ultraedit" which is a more advanced editor and you have to buy, but it can be used with many different types of programming code.
Hope this helps
Hi All,
Does anyone remember the small reference manual given out by ABB when completing a training course for the S4 range of robots. I lost my old one or it fell to bits and was wondering if there exists a PDF version or if someone has a scanned copy they could post please.
Thanks in advance
25) Check the controller cabinet matches the Manipulator- many are mismatched
26) Always have the original Operating software and Key i.d. disc or robot number- very expensive to get a replacement
