    I agree, normally distance of better than 0.01 mm is very good. But I also asked about degree.


    Althogether Nation did and still doing a very good job.

    If anyone had the idea, that I want to blame him - I am very sorry, this was never the case.


    He even encouraged me to work more on the robot models (ABB, FANUC, KUKA) in order to get a better understanding of the differences.

    What is the KSS version?

    What is the TP version of your ArcTech?


    Basically there are three options:

    1. hardcoded: now way to change

    2. some file (ini , xml or ?) - find this file and change the value for max)

    3. Registry (same as 2)

    KSS 8.3.OL and KSS 8.6.OL (this is what I tested) works together with vmware workstation V15.1 and latest version of windows 10.

    It will not work with vmware workstation 15.5


    I think, that this problem was indroduced by microsoft with the update of window 10 (1909?) and could not be solved by vmware.

    The update of windows 10 (latest version) did also not solve this problem - still having problem with vmware workstation 15.5.


    I do not know whether vmware wants to make money out of it, but they made changes to vmware workstation and now calling it v16.0 => you have to buy an upgrade?!


    Does someone is using linux and vmware 15.5? Do you have the same problem?

    For technichians it is the best way always rotate around the new coordinate system (right/(left) hand rule)

    I am using the right hand rule with my left hand; so I can use my right hand for the direction of rotation.


    The math will have slight differences from a conversion done on the Fanuc controller vs a conversion done by this program. Typically the differences are in the order of hundredths to thousandths of a millimeter

    When I made first comparison between the robot reading and my values I was off about the same.

    After adjusting (PI, atan_2, etc.) I got almost the same values (off about 0.00001 mm or deg)


    There is actually not only one set of DH Parameter (for kuka there are at least 4 sets)

    And it seems that the panasonic welding robot has more features then the OTC model.

    The question here: do you need these features, or is it just a nice to have (but never use it)


    We have 1 OTC welding robot at the moment and we don't have any complaining about it

    I do not know your system, but what I also would take into account:

    1. how is (was) the service in the past

    2. do you have trained personal, able to service or program the new robots (difference old and new), are there major differences - maybe just with a polish up(?)


    For me the price for the system would be number two.

    Number on: life cycle costs

    (if you buy a new system for the halve of the price of the other system, but spend four times an additional costs on spare parts, training, service costs , energy, features you do not need, etc.)


    And we are hearing allot of offline programming that will be the future

    Offline programming can be helpful or boring - is this the important issue for you?


    I am not working (or have worked) for the involved robot manufacturers.

    Make up a list comparing the two systems and select the one which suits you
