Thank you both for the replies!

Allow me to clarify a bit: These would not be major OS updates. For software updates, these would be the typical packages that technicians/integrators/maintenance would download onto USB sticks, then download to the controllers. An example of this would be a V9.40P63_Auto_Update package from fanuc's website.

We are looking to get rid of that 'middle-man' USB for security reasons and cut down on the time it takes techs to deploy regular, standard OEM update packages.

    Thanks again!

My company is looking to push for a solution that automates robot controller updates via a centralized management sever, on premises or cloud-based. The goal here is to reduce the time it takes to update all of the robots in our plant and increase the security, as the traditional USB updates are slow and present security risks.

We're planning for a greenfield launch of a new shop, so anything is fair game, whether one of the main companies (FANUC, ABB, KUKA, etc) offer something out of the box, or there is a third party solution that integrates well with one of the main companies.

I see that KUKA offers a "Backup Manager" on the Advanced version of iiQoT, which automates the backup and storage of of backups for their robots. I'm looking to see if there's any system that can both back up and deploy updates.

Has anyone implemented a similar system? If so, what would you recommend?

Any ideas are fair game, thank you!
