  • Periodic shutdown of the Fronius MW5000 welding source when connected via ethernet ip

    • ih3t3spl33p
    • February 7, 2025 at 12:20 PM

Hi everybody. I ran into a problem, in this case, two Fronius sources are connected to Kuka operation to connect via Ethernet/ip to any bus. Interaction with sources has become possible thanks to ArcTech Advanced. If you have some time, the Fronius MW5000 system is disconnected by anybus (it offers a web page, it is also impossible to find it through EniPExplorer), the message "Connection of the EIP device to device 6 is terminated" appears. The problem persists until the source is physically rebooted.
    KSS Version: 8.6.12
    KUKA Ethernet IP MS: 4.1.2
    ArcTech Advanced: 3.5.1

not sure what you mean by "it does not work on your robot" when based on your own screenshot, it clearly does run. It also detects robot model, serial number, KSS version, number of external axes...

Btw that is just front end used to set it up. To actually use it, click on two checkboxes on top and get this window out of way by minimizing it. so, you are a developer eh?

Maybe it was a problem on my side, after I marked "Run on powerup" and restarted the robot, everything worked:smiling_face:

why not? after all, that is pretty much what i was doing while developing it...:smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

while i did not plan to open source this, i am rather flexible and everything is negotiable...

I asked this in order to further develop this program, add emulation of physical buttons and other things, and it also does not work on my robot :loudly_crying_face:

no warranty of any kind, no documentation, use at own risk...

if there is a bug or feature request, feel free to state it.

i may get to it... eventually...

Hello panic mode, is it possible to view the source code of this application on github or similar sites?

    1. there is no mention of welder type, interface type, PDO size etc.
    2. there is no mention of exact AnyBus gateway. AnyBus makes many products... there is even no confirmation that selected product can be used in this application. for example if it has roles reversed (master/slave).
    3. there is no mention of hardware setup / connections. what really connects to what...
    4. if the nodes to be networked are on same subnet, what are the network settings of each device?
    5. what is the actual EIP setup? is it really using Virtual5 and not Windows interface? what are the instances? do they match gateway setup?
    etc.

Welder - FRONIUS RCU5000 or FRONIUS TPS500i (RI-FB inside/i interface), with anybus eip,

    EIP actual use Virtual5 (it`s 192.168.1.231 address)

Hi panic mode, I may misunderstand, but the ip address of the device in workvisual in the anybus-s ethernet/ip device is configured

Hello everyone, I have a problem connecting the Fronius welding source to the Kuka robot, the Anybus-S Ethernet IP parameters are configured correctly, the connection via WorkVisual is working.
