Your batteries have likely died on your robot manipulator arm. If you provide us with the model or the robot then we can provide you a quote for replacement batteries and instructions and tech support to change them. You should also consider changing the batteries in the controller unless its the IRC5 version of control where there are no batteries and just an Ultra-Capacitor.

We have all batteries for all makes and models of robots in stock ready to ship same day via UPS.

    Thanks

Can you provide the specifics on the robot model, generation, software versions etc. Our technical support team can work to assist you on this.

    Thanks

If you have power going to the actual unit then module could be damaged. We have these spare modules in stock and ready to ship same day. We also have a full repair service for all robotic and electronics parts and provide a 2 year warranty.

    Thanks

You likely have a corrupted flash card. If you need spare cards we sell the 1 Gig models. Our robotics tech support can also preload your system on the flash card for you if needed as well if you can send us a backup or the keystrings.

    Thanks

    smallkuka,

On ABB robots there is normally a PTC circuit that monitors the motor temperature. What does the hardware section of your error log display?

Can you describe the symptoms of what is happening with your robot?

    Thanks

    Kim Bak,

Have you tried swappipng the motor contractor with a new one yet? If you need spares we have them instock and every other part for all generations of IRB1400 robot including S4 M94. These motor contactors are a common fail item. Its a very unlikely an internal controller harness or wiring issue unless something was recently changed.

Let us know how we can help.

    Thanks

Then there won't be any battery in the actual controller just in the base of the robot arm.

Let us know if you need any further assistance, support or parts.

    Thanks

    Hello,

If its the IRC5 controller then there is no backup battery in the controller, instead you have an ultra-capacitor which provides enough power when shutting system off to save out the system onto the flash drive.

If you you have an S4C+ M2000 controller then there will be a 21.7V battery down on the lower right side of the controller in the bottom of the main computer box. No need to slide the entire main computer unit out to get at it as you can just remove the 4 torx screws and you can gain access. There is very small 3V watch type battery on the actual computer board (DSQC500 or DSQC540) in the large silver box that can sometimes give alarms and need replacement but it isn't as often.

Let us know if you need help as we have these parts on the shelf ready to ship out same day UPS.

The robot manipulators will all still have batteries across all generations of controllers.

    Thanks,
    Tech Support

    AJ,

Yes, you should check those motor connection cables as it can either affect the brake release or the resolver feedback which would both cause these types of issues.

You said there was oil coming out of the motor? If this is the case then oil may have pushed through the motors seals and got into the motor causing the brake to over-speed and fail. This would require a motor rebuild.

When you press the manual brake release for the motor do you hear a clicking noise and it moves easily?

When you manually push the robot around axis 1 while holding the break release do you hear any noise or is there excessive resistance?

Open the oil drain plug for Axis 1 (This is in the product manual) If you don't have we can provide and assist. Check to see if there are any metal shavings in the oil.

I suspect the motor brake is likely starting to fail and causing this error. We see this all the time.

We have all of these parts in stock and every other part for the IRB1600. We have 2 year warranty on all parts, and also have full repair shops and labs around the work and can quickly repair any servo motor, wrist units, power supplies, drives, or controls.

Let us know how we can best support.

    Thanks,
