  • KUKA iiwa 14 "Encoder error torque sensor K1:A6" alarm info

    • freemanleon
    • October 19, 2020 at 4:50 AM

    Hi all,

We have one iiwa 14kg robot ran for more than two years for part assembly, and recently one alarm occurred to us. The alarm is " Encoder error torque sensor K1:A6". Sometimes it can be reset, but the robot can't keep working for more than several parts.

Do anyone know how to reset it, or how to repair? Do we have to return it to KUKA factory? Thanks for any suggestion.

Hello. We are using several iiwa robots in our plant for assembly. And we monitor its data during running. For now we can only get the robot cartesian position, joint force and so on, by using LBR sensor model, getExternalForceTorque or getExternalTorque etc.

The problem is we want to read its motor output current for maintenance diagnosis (not only the torque), but we are unable to find motor current either in the smartpad interface or any KUKA defined methods/class in sunrise. If anyone knows how to get the motor current, we are very grateful for your sharing. :merci:

    Hi all,

We have been using water enviroment robots for years. And we found the robots can't stand high pressure washer for more than four years even we set the chemical, temperature and nozzle properly.
We decide to add on some protection suits before robot get perfect water proof upgrade. We found some washer suit suppliers such as ASP and Roboworld, but anyone can provide other choices? We hope to compare more than three or four suppliers to get easy access in asian office and cheaper price.

we used to apply pressure fixed seal, but now we use dynamic pressure by servo, the value decided by robot speed feedback

Does your test station really need a PLC? I have setup small station without PLC, using hard wired safety and robot Local start mode, then you can start robot by pressing panel board Start button. Related equipment are controlled by robot EE hard wired 24V. Program you logic with in one loop to choose the robot style by PC connected through Ethernet, modifying online comment value.

    Hi all,

I have been using this forum for years and think it's quite good. Usually such a good website should have one APP in IOS/android. Does any officer here can attach one URL?

Great thanks to DannyDJ, we are now using one training robot from other company so we don't have the complete manual nor the CD now. But I will remeber this when we buy a new one.

To massula, the Sunrise is based on Java Eclipse mostly, just removed the normal Java Run function and added some iiwa robot package/function. You can simply study the Eclipse to prepare for the Sunrise.

    Hi all,

We have one KUKA iiwa 7 collaborative robot in lab and begin to study. However we only use FANUC before and have no experience on KUKA or JAVA either, what's more local KUKA doesn't provide qualified iiwa training for now. About JAVA we can google online or read books. But iiwa sunrise only few manuals with basic instruction.

At this moment I can only write some ptp or basic functions.Do anyone kindly share their advanced iiwa JAVA application codes or projects? I will greatly appreciate and test by my own.

The default password is 1111 but you can change it ,and you can apply setup or modification after restart. When you move out the box, you have cancel the DCS or shift+reset the robot repeatedly, slowly jog it back.

Still very curious about the root cause. How can this conductive object get into the connector? If it wasn't a bug, was your cabinet door not closed tight?

Are you using a axes 7 servo gun? Most of our tip wear faults turn out to be the servo actuator shaft wear out.

Sending new program to robot doesn't require robot at home, as you can check the start condition in FANUC manual.

If you want auto homing, this post maybe helpful. But auto homing is always a tough task for the programer, especially the routers are complex.

I attached the picture of peeling, hope it didn't disgust anyone. The paint touches like soaked paper tissue, almost severed from the cast surface.

    Thanks to Mike! :applaus: :merci:

We used proper concentration of the detergent which should be harmless to the paint. But I am not professional at chemical, so I don't know which else can affect the alkalinity. I will try to find someone or some tools to analyze.

FANUC's test report said this detergent is safe for cables, but it did say safe for paint also. Hope only the peel of paint is all we meet.

    Hello everyone,

Do anyone here have ever used 210WE (water environment) robot for high pressure washers? I'd like to share experience with and get some advice from you.

We applied several 210WE robots without protective boots in washer chambers. And we used approved detergent (SP735) under 55℃ condition, no high pressure spray direct impact on the robot surface, blah-blah. Though we think we did everything according to FANUC requirements, we still suffer peel of yellow paint on the robot arms. But luckily, so far no further damage of O-ring/seal/reducer occurred.

Of course we feedback to FANUC and they suggest the temperature maybe actually out of control inside the chamber. I don't buy this presumption quite well but we have no experience before or proof at hand.

Do anyone know why peel of paint ? And does peel of paint really deteriorate to mechanical damage?

  • Doubt about Short Circuit Current Rating

    Hello everyone,

I want to know the short circuit current rating of one M710iC robot, so I checked the label. But I am a little puzzled about the "380VAC 2,500 RMS AMPERES". I don't think it means 2500 A for current, I think it should be 25 A. Is there any misunderstanding between me and FANUC label?
