I need a manual that explains how to add I/o to existing set of parameters. It’s on ABB 6400 robot. S4 controller. I only have the product manual and it pretty useless.

6400 robot. For some reason my robot refuses to update the rev counters. I put in all the offsets and restarted like I always do. Then lined up all axis and included all in rev counter update but it refuses to calibrate. I am working on this robot in the repair area. The only thing different from out in the floor is that I do not have a program for it to run. Do I need to have some program in it to update the rev?

Thanks for the advice. third shift guy helped me figure it out. Sadly my training is mostly on the mechanical end of the robots.

I’m not sure if I’m even using this site correctly my apologies. I have a 6400 robot using the s4c teach pendant. We are currently adding a shears unit to the machine and I cannot figure out how to add I/o into the parameters. We have it all wired inside the cabinet it’s the programming I’m lost on. Forgive my lack of technical language I have no formal training.
