I use the solution Lemster proposed by shuting down the computer. I have already changed the capacitor bank but that didn't solve the problem.

Every day when we start the robot, do we have a system failure and do we need to restart the robot via "restart" then "advanced" followed by the "restart to last auto saved". Is it possible that the battery in the IRC5 or Robot is depleted? Anyway I don't get any errors that the battery is depleted. Once restarted, the robot works without any problems during the day!

I have an IRB1200 with an IRC5 and after a hit, I needed to reset the revolution counters. I moved the different joints in their calibration position and now the robot refuses to reset the revolution counters by indicating that the parameters in the robot and the controller are different. I checked all data and saw that the serial number and other data are valid except for the calibration where is mentionned valid but not equal. Do I update the controller with robot memory or vice versa? Or maybe none of those?

Thanks a lot for the replies, I will check for any corrosion. This could be indeed the reason. I have the impression that the robot in the past worked in a corrosion sensitive environment, looking at the painting coming lose. I bought the battery via a certified ABB parts seller and I checked the voltage before connecting it to the board. And it was indeed 11.2V.
There exists also a possibility to buy a rechargeable battery, but this is not standard. But Is the battery than charged via the measuring board? Or is this a not done topic?

Is it normal that a new battery is drained after 7weeks below 8V? We changed the battery after a 38001 error end January and this worked fine, but the project was put on hold for some weeks, so we didn't fire-up the robot during that period and now we have the battery showing 7,2V. Or can there be another reasing why the battery drained that quick?

and don't forget in some case you have to replace the package not only the battery.
if you need more information let me knowHi, I have a question around changing the battery or the complete package. As far I know you have to replace the complete package if the rev is below 10, as from rev 10 you may only change the battery. But where can I find the rev number?
Already thanks for the help!
