Hi guys,

New to robotics but I have just recently got a project that requires me to utilize a robotic arm to move cups of full water from position A to B to C. It needs to be moved quickly and requires a consistent and accurate movement.

I am thinking along the lines of these models:

Staubli tx2-40
Comau racer 3
mecca500
kuka kr3
mitsubishi rv4fl

anyone knows roughly the ballpark for these models and prices of them?

Any help will be much appreciated :fine: :respect:

$20K-$30K.  Roughly.
Call the manufacturers directly, get in touch with their sales force, and ask them for a budgetary price.
Final price will all depend on options:  I/O capability, connectivity ports, type of cabinets, and so on.

Thanks TygerDawg,

I have got in contact with a chinese manufacturer called ADtech. They have a similar arm with similar specs going at around 10kusd mark.

What are the main things to consider when getting into a robotic arm?

1. Is it the software they are using?
2. Is it built quality?
3. After sales support and servicing?

Sorry for the noob questions.

Cheers.

Hello.

You could also consider Universal Robots UR3/5 for such an application since it is collaborative and pretty friendly to use.

You mentioned payload required, but not reach.  How far from point a to b to c?   That is a very important consideration.

Yes that is very important to consider, as of now we are aiming for around 0.5m reach give or take.

Hey I have checked the motomini looks like a really cool concept. Check out the Meca500 from mecatronic. They are doing something similar i think their price is around 10k usd. However, the motomini is like 40k USD range! omg lol.

I am really constrained on budget, anyone have ever used a chinese robotic arm or used second hand arms?

I have a brand new, still in the box Staubli TX40.
It's a year 2010 with brand new CS8C controller
and brand new cables.

I would sell it for less than half of replacement cost.

Here is the link to it on our website.  Our family
owns a used machinery dealership in Michigan.
We are called R.A.B. Industries, which is really just
my Father's initials, lol.
https://www.rabindustries.com/listings/87476-2010-staubli-tx40-6-axis-cnc-robot-with-cs8c-controller-never-used

I have no idea if this one will have the reach you need,
the specs are on there though, along with photos.

Feel free to contact me if you are interested!

EDIT- We also have Kuka KR5's, about 11 in stock.
They have KRC2 ed. 05 controllers, teach pendants,
and cables.  link below.
https://www.rabindustries.com/listings/88614-kuka-kr-5-sixx-r650-6-axis-cnc-robot

We also have KR6 ARC sixx units.  Same controller, 1 more KG of
payload, and  more reach.
Link:
https://www.rabindustries.com/listings/87582-2006-kuka-kr6-arc-6-axis-cnc-robot-6kg-x-1611mm-w-krc2-ed05
We also have some very good condition
motomans that just came in, they are called
SSF2000's.  These are NX100 controlled, 2008's.
They have a little over 1300mm of reach.  I think
we have 4 left.

Hopefully this helps you out.

Good luck on your search!

Let us know what you end up buying!
