I have a set of EA1900N welding robots I bought in an auction a few years ago I'm trying to get up and running but I'm trying to figure out where to start. The main issue I'm having is when I start the system there is no robot icon on the teach pendant. I'm assuming the parameters were wiped before the auction for liability reasons but I'm not sure. There is no CF card in the teach pendant and I'm not sure if there was anything on it required to make the system work. I also only have one set of cables so I can only hook up one robot at a time. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I'm hoping to use one to fly a high speed camera and the other into a light duty mill for foam to do lost foam metal casting. I have a decent background in CNC programming and repair/retrofitting but really new to robots.

    Thank you

The only insight is you have a clusterfuck going on.

Call Yaskawa. Have them bring you base cables and set the system up.

I know a thing or two, because I’ve seen a thing or two. Don't even ask about a third thing. I won't know it.

Yes the easiest answer is always to throw money at problems until they go away I wish I had that luxury until then understanding what could be missing and what I need to do with info from those who have more experience in this area is a better option for me unfortunately.

What do you see in the Main Menu? JOB, VARIABLE, IN/OUT, etc. or SYSTEM, FILE, etc.

The controller, then, has lost the memory. The controller knows nothing such as robots attached or application.

More than likely the batteries in the controller and robots need replaced.

Are all the proper boards installed in the controller to even make it operate? Besides the missing base cables?

Yes it looks complete other than the missing cables, nothing on the inside looks to be tampered with besides the removal of some of the safety lasers and peripherals. So I probably need to replace the batteries and re-install CMOS.bin for the machine?

If you have a cmos.bin load it. I would expect to get some offline alarms since the controller is not seeing the 2nd robot.

I’m making the assumption that both robots and the controller were in production together. The cmos would at least tell you what hardware the controller thinks it should have.

I was able to go into the menu and detach the second robot as well as a positioning turntable so it still has some of the original setup info in there. Yes both robots were in production together in a welding cell with a few positioners to rotate parts
