Hi, I am learning KUKA robots and currently trying KUKA.Sim software. In fanuc or abb there is easy way to create workspaces (space fcn), visualise them in robotstudio/roboguide and use them for monitoring or enabling robot. Anyway i went through many posts here and through manuals but I can't find way to create and show workspaces in KUKA.Sim (I am not talking about safety Monitoring spaces, which are different as i understand).

Any help will be apreciated. Thank you

I dont know if its right way to do that, but i create safety monitoring space and i use it for visualising. Then i am using same data for workspace in right origin.

If anybody has correct way to do that i will be thankfull too :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I am not familiar with Fanuc or ABB, but if a workspace is similar to a base, you press this button to see its coordinates in space.

In my picture you can see where i defined base_data[12].

it looks like that displays origin of some frame (3 dimensions). pretty sure he wants to see all six, something like this cube

Location of ISO cube in the robot workspace

    1) read pinned topic: READ FIRST...

    2) if you have an issue with robot, post question in the correct forum section... do NOT contact me directly

    3) read 1 and 2

Ah I see. I have not come across a function like that. As choze said, could be the only realistic way to do it is to add a safety monitoring space that is not intended to be a safety monitoring space.

Well, i know how to configure it, but id like them to be seen in KUKA.Sim, so i can check how it fits to my stations (CAD files).

In FANUC it looks something like this:

Thats just defined frames (bases), i am talking about workspaces, thats something different

Sorry, I don’t think we have Workspace Monitoring in KUKA.Sim. I can look if there is anything new on this. What I have done to help customers with the settings is use a cube with a glass appearance.

Setting up a block like this and setting the origin on the corner for the origin provides the origin values. Then use the size Length_X, Width_Y, and Height_Z as the size values. You could leave the origin in the center and plan on the distance from the origin as positive and negative values. Let me know if this helps you. The behavior will work though.

We have full support for SafeOperation in KUKA.Sim but I haven’t seen anything on workspace monitoring.

How to configure workspace? and Is there a way to configure it in kuka sim and we can dump that thing into real controller?
