Hi guys. I look after a few Kawasaki robots and usually encoder battery on the z series is behind a cover in the manipulator base.

However we have 2 UD100 robots and I cannot for the life of me find the battery. Both are on C Controllers.

    Any ideas on the location?

    Welcome to the forum............:beerchug:

U series manipulators were superseded by Z series manipulators and Kawasaki had the hindsight to create a separate removal battery panel on the rear umbilical connection plate of the arm for easy access.

In U series this did not exist, so the complete rear umbilical connection plate has to be removed in order to access the encoder battery assembly as the battery assembly is secured on the 1FG board which is mounted to the rear of the umbilical connection plate.

Perfect that’s really helpful thank you. Is it still the same er17/50 battery pack as the z series?

Yes, it's the same Maxell ER17/50 dual cell sealed assembly and same connector.

There are 2 part no.s available for the same assembly:
50750 - 1007 (I think this was the initial part no.).
50750 - 1018 (This I believe is the current part no.).
