Discussion (V)KRC2ed05 cannot run the program in high speed mode (automatic mode).

    I have not changed the KPS-600 power source for the Robot. I noticed that sometimes it still runs automatically at very low speed. That is during non-peak hours of the day.

    I use 3-phase 380v power source for business purposes with a maximum power supply of only 22KW, average is 12.5Kw.

    I saw someone talking about DSE IBS C33, while my Robot (V)KRC2 is using DSE IBS C32.

    Is the problem due to the power supply to the Robot being too weak.
    and need to request an upgrade power supply and need to replace the DSE IBS C32 with a DSE IBS C33?

    (The DSE IBS C32 was available when I received it)

    I originally left the fuse at 63A, it tripped every time I asked it to shut down in cold mode. then I changed the fuse to 100A. it stopped tripping. however still can't run at high speed. sometimes it still runs but that's not peak hours.

    that is not right, at 380v 3phase a 32A fuse should be more than enough. what kind of fuse are you using (response time)?

    also have you ever measured the voltage of your outlet?

    so a class C fuse, that should never pop. Especially not a 63 amp one.

    Something is seriously wrong with your KRC. Unfortunately i can only point to the KPS, because that is basically the power supply for the drives, and has the biggest power drain. But the fact that te fuse pops when you turn of the KRC has me baffled. i have no clue how that can happen.

    i know what it is, and it functions as a fuse so the terminology doesn't matter. The fact is that it should not trigger. having a 100A circuit breaker for a KRC is ridiculous. furthermore it is a fire hazard.

    I have the exact same KRC with a KR210 and its circuit breaker is 32A. I have never had any problems with that.

    Thank you very much for your help. Can you tell me if the 22kw power supply is enough for the robot to operate stably?

    KUKA robots sold on North American market typically have own transformer. largest transformer is 13.5kVA which is used on all big robots, even largest ones rated for payloads 300-1300kg.

    but that is power... and some of the energy is recycled through intermediate bus (when one axis is accelerating, some other axis is likely decelerating - so motor is working ass generator).

    the mains current protection required for controller is shown on controller nameplate and in controller manual. read both.

    current protection need to be time delayed and trip curve for your circuit breaker may not be suited.


    i see robot installations left and right all the time. none of them use MCB protections like you did. everyone is using MCCB, or fuses (J-type or FR type).

    Hi Panic Mode. Can you help me see the status of KPS-600 and MCF3 Card in the image below? Is it faulty and what is the main cause of errors (1223, 1228, 1229, 1245 and 1262)?. I see some posts fix the error by replacing the KPS-600 Power Module, and some posts have to replace the DSE IBS C33 circuit. (mine is using DSE IBS C32). Thank you very much.

    Current status:
    - There are 6 lights on the KPS600 Module. 2 lights on the top and 4 lights on the bottom row.
    - The blue LED on the top sometimes lights up continuously, sometimes it flashes, usually when it just starts up.
    - The row of 4 LED lights below: (2 Red LED lights on the left and 2 Blue LED lights on the right). The 2 Red lights flash quickly but are very dim.
    - The Blue LED on the top does not light up, whether in automatic or manual mode. The Blue LED below only lights up when the Moving axes are in manual mode. automatic mode does not light up,
    - The 2 lights on the MCF3 card do not light up.
