I have problems with profinet communication between the plc and the irc5, I have an ethernet switch to connect various things such as the PLC, HMI, g120x drive and the irc5. First I tried the communication from my laptop and the irc5, from robotstudio 2023, when "add controller connect with one click", in the "IO System" input/output settings the PROFINET communication does not appear enabled.
Why could this be?
Details:
I connected my laptop to the irc5's x5 LAN port
When I want to connect it from robotstudio it asks me for a username and password and as I enter the default user it does not let me enter some options.
Profinet connection

I have the availability to install version 6.15.08.00. Is that why it does not detect PROFINET? Because I do have the dsqc 668 and the profinet communication does not appear. -
ah.. oops?
ProfiNet communication need "840-3 PROFINET Anybus Device" Option.
Your robot include "841-1 EtherNet Scn/Adp" option so, You can use EtherNet/IP Fieldbus communication.
The controller requires the 840-3 option. Even if the DSQC668 is installed, it will not be recognized without the option software.
DeviceNet series like DSQC378 (Controller Internal Network) can be used because they depend on the 709-1 option.Let's summarize the situation again.
- If the Field-Bus to be connected to the Master PLC is ProfiNet:
→ You need to request a serial key that includes the ProfiNet (840-3) option from the local ABB robot supplier and then rebuild the RobotWare system. - If the Master PLC's Field-Bus can be switched to EtherNet/IP:
→ Use the currently installed 841-1 option on the robot to set up communication via EtherNet/IP.
- If the Field-Bus to be connected to the Master PLC is ProfiNet:

I am aware that the 840-3 is not activated, but how do I activate it so that I can use PROFINET communication? Please, I need your help. Thank you very much for your help, I really appreciate it, but I need to activate said communication. I read that a license is needed, but how do I buy it?
I am lost.

Le agradezco mucho la ayuda. Estaré actualizando lo que suceda.

I believe that following the steps below will allow the DSQC688 unit to be recognized properly:
- Purchase the 840-3 option through ABB.
- The provided serial key consists of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, and numbers.
- Use RobotStudio's "Installation Manager (RW6.**)" to create a new system image.
- Connect to the robot controller and upload the generated image.
- After a few reboots, check whether the DSQC688 device is connected.
