I have a Fanuc R30iB controller with a Siemens CP1604 Profinet card (not the Molex one).
I understand that I need to do the hardware config in TIA Portal and download this to the CP1604.
I've also found many references to "generating a GDSML file" for the robot.
2 Problems:
I cannot set up failsafe I/O signals in the transfer area using firmware 2.6
I cannot generate a GDSML file using firmware 2.6
I know it was done before, as these robots were salvaged from another cell.
I know it was done in STEP 7 before, since I have those files. However, in those files, no transfer areas were set up. It wasn't even set up as an I/O device as per the Fanuc manual (Profinet Safety User Guide v1.0).
I know Profisafe must be possible using V2.6 firmware, as the GDSML file I have for the robot uses V2.6 and can be configured for Profisafe.
I'm new to the forums, so I'd love to insert screenshots and PDFs but I don't know how/if I'm allowed.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Alternatively, we may have to just use Ethernet/IP and the PLC can control all the devices for the robot over Profinet.
