Industrial Network Public / PROFINET

Hello everybody,

I have the following problem. I have a setup consisting of a PLC Siemens 1200, an ABB IRB1200 Robot and PC with WinCC running on it and the software for a 3D Camera from Solomon. The PC has to communicate to the PLC for the SCADA system and also with the Robot for the Socket Communication to retrieve the data from the camera. Also, the Robot has to cummunicate with the PLC for change of signals and witht the PC for obtaining the pick point values. The issue is that the type of Connection for the PLC-Robot communication works when it's set to PROFINET Network and for the PC-Robot works when it's set to Public Network. The port that I use is LAN3 for the Robot. I was wandering if anyone has any idea of how this situation could be solved so that all the devices will communicated between them appropriate. I came with an idea recently. The IRC5 controller came with the Profinet but also with the Profinet Anybus, so I was thinking that I could let the Robot-PC connection on Profinet be on LAN3 port with the IP 192.168.0.6 and the Robot-PLC connection on Profinet Anybus to be made on the WAN port with the IP 192.168.0.7. Does this sound feasible or not?

Profinet Anybus is a special option for special hardware, i.e. the Anybus card. AFAIK You can use Profinet Anybus software only on that card, not on WAN or anywhere else.

Normally you can't use ip addresses in same subnet on different hardware ports, but that's the thing you want to do.

You didn't tell which protocols you want to use for PC connection.

Do you only use socket communication, or also profinet or whatever?

The setup is as following:

The PLC has to communicate with the PC because a WinCC Runtime Advanced file is on it and controls the application

The PLC has to communicate with the Robot via Profinet to change signals between them

The Robot has to communicate with the PC to retreive the coordinates of the point from the 3D Camera

The technician from the camera manufacturer helped us with the configuration and it said that the Profinet controller has to be configured with a Public Network as following:

The problem is that if the Connection is set on Public Network the Robot communicates with the PC but the connexion with the PLC is intrerrupted

If the Connection is set on Profinet Network then the Robot communicates with the PLC but the connexion with the PC is intrerrupted

I use Socket commands to obtain the values from camera.

The problem is that I have to make possbile that the PLC-Robot-PC communicate with each other, but the Camera connected only works on Public Network.

But probably you must use different ip address ranges and give the pc two different ip addresses on one adapter, on a pc this is possible. or you need a second network interface .

Have heard that one can use profinet and public network on WAN port simultaneously, but never tried. And may be a glitch in my main memory.. In any way you must define two connections in robotstudio.

I would prefer giving a try for the first solution.

I was thinking like that. I would let the LAN3 port for the PC-Robot communication with the IP 192.168.1.6 on the Profinet as Public Network

And for the PLC-Robot communication the Profinet Anybus port with the IP 192.168.0.7

And o the PC because it has only one port of Ethernet I would try to set the addresses as following
