    Hi there,

I am working on enabling ProfiSAFE on a brand new KRC5 module, KSS 8.7.7, and I have a permanent KSS 00404 Safety Stop error I can't remove. I have configured ProfiSAFE in a KRC4 before and by unplugging the safety module and removing it from the workvisual project was enough, but I don't think it's applicable to the KRC5 since the interior of the module is not accesible.

I have read other posts about this issue in KRC4, and most solutions involve jumping signals from X11. But according to the KRC5 documentation, modules X11.1 and X11.3 are ignored when enabling ProfiSAFE, so I don't think that is applicable either.

I have also sent KrcDiag to Kuka support but they haven't been able to help us so far.

Any suggestions? Please let me know if you need any more info.

    Thanks in advance

that is just a follow up message,... what other messages do you have? is communication with PLC working for standard signals?

    1) read pinned topic: READ FIRST...

    2) if you have an issue with robot, post question in the correct forum section... do NOT contact me directly

What are you trying to accomplish? Did this robot come with ProfiSafe, and you want to convert it to X11 safety? Are you trying to make a permanent change, or just temporarily get past the error to jog the robot around?

The only message left is Safety Stop (Parada de seguridad in spanish as shown in the picture). I have fixed all other messages. Both standard Profinet and ProfiSAFE communications are working and all the ProfiSAFE bytes and other system signals (i.e. move_enable) are configured as specified in the documentation.

I want to manage safety with ProfiSAFE on a Siemens PLC as a permanent change, the robot came with X11 safety by default.

As a follow up, this morning (European morning lol) I have made the X11.1 jumpers but it didn't solve it.

Thank you for taking some time to look into this issue, I appreciate it

that is KRC5 so there is no X11. X11 was safety interface on previous generations of KRC.

on KRC5 that is now XG11 + XG58. sounds like you did not wire anything to XG58 yet

Sorry i meant the jumpers for XG11.1. I did wired XG58 previously.

The picture I attached shows the security interfaces and seems like both XG11 and XG58 are okay. The warning symbol in ProfiSAFE is for the tools but I haven't enabled "Safe monitoring" in the safety configuration so I believe it shouldn't affect? Enabling Safe monitoring did not solve the issue either.

.. removing it from the workvisual project was enough,..

How exactly? Can you show your device tree in Workvisual?

i meant in KRC4, in KRC5 i cannot physically disconnect the boards. if i remove any of them from the workvisual project, i get a warning of slave not found or something similar. i attached a screenshot of the current bus structure

kuka support came back saying that they have to bring someone to open up and remove the board themselves... which i find very bizarre.. i'll update you if you are interested on how this ended up solving, but it won't be before christmas holidays end

At the moment you have two safety circuits configured; SION board and Profisafe. It's only one allowed. So delete the two SION boards, and try again. Don't know if it works with board physically connected but not configured. But just a few weeks ago I had two robots with physically mounted SION boards, but they weren't configured. The only thing that happened, was that the I/O didn't work. Even Kuka support needed some days to see what's going wrong.

You have SafeOperation cards installed in the controller? IFB-ext are SafeOperation cards so, you must also make jumpers on them, until they are correctly wired.
