    KRC2 robot
    I have a computer running windows 10.
    Installed VMWare running windows xp
    installed multiprog on windows xp

I have been able to connect multiprog to softplc and did some programming last year.

BUT then I changed to a new computer (old one died).
Installed vmware and took the vmware backup from that computer.

In windows xp I can ping the computer running the softplc, but when I trie to connect it says State: timeout.
Deactivated firewall in both win xp and on win 10.

    No luck.
    Pleas help me

Which part of the computer you are able to ping?

Windows side or base system side?
(ProConOS is part of the base system)

How is your Network Adapter is set up?

    • Bridged
    • NAT
    • Host only

    If Bridged or NAT

Which Network Adapter is assigned (LapTops normally have two of them: LAN/WLAN)?
How do you connect to ProConOS (seperate network card to the Base system or Router)?

Do you use the same vmware software or an upgraded version?

A good start would be telling

    • KSS Version
    • Multiprog version
    • ProConOS version
    • vmware Version (also Work station or Player)

Also a sketch of you layout would be helpful

my guess is that you can ping something... but that something is not necessarily the softplc running on krc2. unplug network cable from krc2 and try to ping again. if you can still ping it, you are pinging something else.

    1) read pinned topic: READ FIRST...

    2) if you have an issue with robot, post question in the correct forum section... do NOT contact me directly

    3) read 1 and 2

This probably would not help (50:50).

On the vmware PC there a network cards (maybe). One is connetcted to thw windows side of the KRC. Using one wire running to the switch and there seperated for the windows side and the base system side (this would be the standard configuration to have access to both sides)

    Another option would be

(with or without switch (not recommended))

For post #4 and this post there schould be an entry in vxwin.ini: e = Ip address and driver name)

This would be the third solution

Besides these pictures I also would put the IP- addresses to different interfaces to my sketch. Was this done?

As mentioned more information would be very welcome and helful

Just remeber to deactivate rule when done with programming

But I have another question for you. How should I do if I would connect to the OPC DA interface?
I have Kepserverex, and I have tried to connect but haven't been able.
    Is it possible?

Or is there another smart/easy way to do a signal exchange with another system?
I would like to read out some values, to Kepserverex or a siemens plc.

    Dear Patrik,

Do you have more info about this. I mean manuals or something. I am completely new in proconos communication. What should be the first step? I mean do i have a proconos package on the robot like gripper spot tech? Or every controller can make this communication? Thanks for your help!

check pinned topic READ FIRST. it shows you how to determine KSS version, what the installed options are, their version and where and how to get documentation (Xpert).

Proconos is one of those options - it need to be installed on the robot (just like GripperTech etc.). there is another piece of software used to program it. IT is called MultiProg and this installs on your computer, To transfer program you need to connect your computer and the robot.

    Dear PanicMode,

Thanks for your information. My robot controller KSS version is 5.6.12, and i found the manual on kuka xpert, but i didn't find any similar name file on my KRC windows.(I mean proconos) In my country KUKA closed trading for krc2 robots(the support too), so i don't know how can i get this software. If somebody has this software can give it to me and i can use it too?

Then what are you doing asking for manuals? Why do you think you need Proconos?

KRC2 product line is retired and parts/services may not be available. So your options are

    1. Sell that robot system and buy another, either one that does have PRoconos option or a newer system that is still supported so that you can buy options for it (including Proconos).

    2. Do not use Proconos. that is just a soft PLC. If you need a PLC, get another one, just make sure it is something that can talk to your robot. Does not need to be a soft PLC, you can use hardware PLC (i would only go for hardware variant anyway). your robot is KRC2 based so it supports DeviceNet (MFC works as a DeviceNet master) so any PLC that can work as DeviceNet slave will do... Allen Bradley...Omron... whatever you like...

    3. like previous option but use Ethernet (either Ethernet/IP or ProfiNet - if your robot has one of them)

    4. emigrate to another country if you can find one that still sells Proconos for KRC2...

    1) read pinned topic: READ FIRST...

    2) if you have an issue with robot, post question in the correct forum section... do NOT contact me directly

So, I am using a PLC type( Turck) which can be profibus slave, which is communicate one of our robots and works perfectly fine. The problem is that we would like a 2 robot cell, and 2 master robot can’t communicate with a slave. They have solution to use proconos, that’s why i wanted to use that or i have to buy 2 plc which are communicate to each other. Sadly, deviceNet not good either.

Using ProconOS will not help with the ProfiBus Master/Slave issue.

The most typical KUKA KRC2 ProfiBus card has two ports -- one that acts as a Master, the other as a Slave. KRC2s are entirely capable of using both channels at once.
