Changed Robot Type in Roboguide

Hi everybody,

I´m preparing my first Fanuc robot cell at the moment. I took a Backup from a cell that was meant to be very similar and started from there with making changes in Roboguide (Tasks, Gripper IOs, some programm changed etc..).

Now the real robot arrived and it turns out its another robot type. The one in Roboguie which i made my modifications on is a 2000iC and the real robot is a 900iB. I guess thats part of the problem that why i´m not able to restore my Roboguide project on the robot?!
Is there a way to make my Roboguide Backup fit to the robot? It really took some time to make my modifications and I hope i can transfer them to the real robot now.

From the property-window of your robot, there is a button for re-serializing.

After that, make sure that you once again test your programs and the motions.

(Howcome you didn't know which robot you were going to get? There's quite a difference between those two models...)

My boss himself told me I should take this backup and work from there on. I never questioned it or checked it myself, unfortunately..

re-serializing sounds easier than it appears. At the point where you have to chose the robot options I get in trouble. It sees conflicts with options which I cant even find in the list. Not even if I search for the number -.-

Meanwhile I found a backup of another robot cell that has the same robot than what i have here now. But i even can´t restore this backup... "could not load SYSVARS"

Also, you should not transfer sysmast, sysvars and sysservo from your roboguide cell to the real robot.
TP programs and other files such as frames and positions and I/O mapping is ok.

When you try to restore a backup and you get a message that sysvars couldn't be restored, it usually means that there are differences between the two robot's systems. Could be system software version, could be options, could be both, could be a few different reasons also.
