    Hi All,

I am a beginner with ABB robots. We recently purchased an older ABB robot with a controller, and I have gathered the following information from the robot's nameplate:

    Robot Details:

    • Type: IRB 6640 M2004
    • Variant: IRB 6640-180/2.55

Unfortunately, the controller's nameplate is damaged, so I do not know the exact version or specifications of the controller, although we do know it is an IRC5. There are several components missing from both the robot and controller, and many wires are disconnected inside the control cabinet.

Could you kindly guide me on where I can find the specific documentation necessary to get this robot and controller operational? If anyone has the specific documnets could you please share that,

I have attached a few photos of the controller for reference.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your valuable feedback.

The controller is an IRC5. I would recommend to take the serial number and then contact ABB tech support with it. They can provide detailed information about the original system and probably about the history. Manuals, circuit diagrams, etc. can be downloaded from ABB Library.
