About hardware what exactly do I need except the deviceNET card? I am thinking about that I/o board what brand should I search or what if the robot has one installed. I am looking to get things sorted hardware-wise
Newbie to industrial robots needs some help deciding.

that is up to you.... i have seen plenty of Wago, Beckhoff, Omron... etc.
for example if you need flexibility, use modular I/O. an example would be Wago bus coupler 750-306, then add I/O slices as needed...for example 4x DO could be 750-504, and 4xDI could be 750-402. and you could use one or several of each...
if using Beckhoff, things are similar. For example bus coupler could be BK5250, etc.
note bus coupler and IO modules would need to from same manufacturer (Same product line).
then there are dedicated I/O modules,
like Omron DRT2-ID16-1, DRT2-OD16TA-1...
there are also some that are IP67 rated. your call...

Avoid Allen-Bradley devices -- they have a bad tendency to be unusable out of the box unless you configure them offline using AB's $$$ software. Aside from that, most simple DN devices should be fine.
I've always been fond of the Turck modules. Robust, self-contained, some versions have screw terminals instead of requiring M12 connectors.
Wago and Beckhoff aren't bad, as Panic says, although their flexibility means they take more work to set up.

So I have some more news. I’ve spoke with the seller and I was able to get some more pictures it looks the kr6 robot we are talking about has a DeviceNet card. Please check these pictures and let me know how this all looks

So I probably only need an I/O device-module to get things started. I saw all of your messages guys about specific brands and models. I see they go around 500€ each. I am in Europe so if you can be more specific of the exact model I should go for with this kuka robot to be as safe as possible that would be great. I know I am asking for a lot but you guys have been more than helpful throughout this new journey for me
Edit: I saw just now the link you guys provided me. For 50€ if this works I am all in!
Edit2: I can seem to find any here in Europe. Shipping to Greece plus tax from US would make this very expensive at the point I might be better looking for better options. If you know anything from eu let me know -
Ok so seller gave me some more pictures of the actual robot now. Can someone help me and tell me the maximum left to right opening? Is it 90cm or 70cm? Also out of all these pictures do you guys think it’s a good idea to buy it?

The what?
In the photo that shows the top of the motherboard, the connector labelled X801 is the MFC DeviceNet port (which all KRC1s and KRC2s have) It appears to already have a cable. It's hard to tell, but from the photo of the cabinet with the door open, it looks like this robot was purchsed with the DN support hardware, which was basically a cable from X801 down to a set of external ports in the lower bulkhead.
There's also a set of axis range-monitoring rings for safety interlocks around A1. Those you can use or not, depending on your safety configuration.
It appears to be in decent shape -- used but not hard used. The issues are, as I said before, most likely to be just age. I've seen some of these robots keep running for decades, and some of them turn into complete hangar queens. The robot itself usually outlasts the controller, unless it's being pushed close to its mechanical limits over its lifetime. Generally the floppy and CD-ROM go first, followed by the hard drive or motherboard. So I recommend being on the lookout for compatible controllers you could buy for parts. I'd also recommend shopping around in advance for vendors in your region who deal in parts -- there's a strong market of people who buy up old robots, and either part them out or build working units from 2-3 old wrecks. You want to find someone reputable who actually tests the parts they sell before they put them on the market.
