    Hi Everyone,

So we have a cell already built up and was completely functional about 9 months ago. It has since undergone a big modification nothing that interfered with the vision or any of the robots it was just an upgrade for our safety system.
Upon trying to re-commission the robot we have an issue with the Vision system which is preventing us from starting I can't be too specific about the cell, The camera is in a fixed position NOT on the robot and is looking in an area where it's telling the robot whether the area is full or not. We are getting the errors listed below:

    CVIS-085 (Camera Timeout)
    CVIS-454 (Camera Communication Error)
    CVIS -090 (Vision DMA Error)
    CVIS - 002 (Bad arguments)

These errors do not occur all at once the most common one we get when we go onto the "Live" view for the vision we get the CVIS-085 and sometimes a CVIS-454. If we run through the vision-logic sometimes it will read it through with no errors and it even updates the registers but sometimes we either get the the CVIS-090 or CVIS-002 when running this program.
The camera will sometimes work maybe for 5 seconds?
But after it'll give a communication error.
The modifications made within the cell although were nothing to do with the robot in anyway involved removing a large amount of shielding/protection in that area along with a fair amount of scaffolding going on in that area which is now removed. So there is a possibility that something could have been damaged or it's suffering from interference unfortunately in this instance we cant just go in and take a look for safety reasons so I wanted to try and rule out whether there was something we could have missed on the TP which may help us.

We have tried a complete turn-off and on again, we've compared the settings to roboguide and this hasn't changed.
Any help would be much appreciated as this is now the only thing stopping us, i have also basically have zero experience with vision only know some basic stuff about it so I will try and be as helpful as possible if any other info is needed!

    Specifications:
    Robot - Fanuc M900iB
    Vision System - A05B-1426-B102 2D grayscale camera

    Thanks guys!

Usually these things occur on robot mounted cameras, where the cable is put to stress and eventually faults with CVIS-085 and/or CVIS-090.

But sure, even a stationary camera could suffer from bad cabling.

First thing to try would be a new camera connection cable.

Also, the stuff regarding shielding could play a part in this. It is somewhat sensitive to interference from surrounding sources, and the recommendation in the manuals are to make sure that the shield of the cable is properly grounded as well as use ferrite cores to try to get rid of noise in the shield.
