IRC5 - Safety Controller (SC) 1 is disabled - Event message 20476

Hello everyone,

I’m facing an issue after moving my ABB IRB 140 robot, which is running on an IRC5 controller, to a new location. After disconnecting the manipulator from the controller and reconnecting everything, I’m getting the following error message on the teach pendant:

Event message 20476: SC 1 Disabled (Safety Controller (SC) 1 is disabled).

Restoring the system hasn’t helped so far. I’ve also checked various sources, forums, and YouTube, but haven’t found a solution to this specific problem.

I came across a suggestion to "download a safety configuration to the safety controller", but I’m not sure how to proceed. Is it possible to handle this through the teach pendant or via RobotStudio?

Could you clarify a bit more what you mean by "uploading"? Is this configuration already available in Robot Studio, or do I need to set something up myself? Do you have any suggestions, like a list, documentation, or video tutorial?

OK, I managed to solve the issue!

If I had someone to ask... or had contact with the people who configured everything before, I wouldn’t be writing on the forum...

Restoring the system from an image was unsuccessful due to some missing files, but I was able to restore the system to the latest error-free version through ABB system restart / restore. You just need to go to Restart -> Advanced -> B-Start.

After restarting the system, my problems disappeared.
