I was configuring the Network from the smartPad while stablishing a PROFINET communication from Workvisual. I did many shutdowns with the physical switch of the controller because the PLC programmer could connect to rhe robot. After a few shutdowns the KCP didnt restart at all as it display " Waiting for cyclic connection" I connected a monitor to see if it was a problem with the KCP or with the controller and it shows "Unable to stablish connection to the KRC. Robot connection not possible." I think I may have corrupted the controller with many shutdowns. I also run a KRDiag and it shows many missing parts. I want to know if there is something I can do to restablish the controller before having to ask a KUKA tech to come over.

I attach some images of the messages of the controller and the KCP.

restore known good backup image. then load latest WoV project. not sure what ProfiNet settings did you try to alter from smartPad.. there is literally nothing exposed on smartPad. full image backup is always the best defense against things gone wrong.

    1) read pinned topic: READ FIRST...

    2) if you have an issue with robot, post question in the correct forum section... do NOT contact me directly

    3) read 1 and 2

How do I restore a backup image?

I meant that I was changing Profinet settings on Workvisual, not on the smartPad.

I have this files as the last good backup (image attached). But I dont know where do I put them inside the folders of the controller. Since I am mot able to connect with Workvisual either, I am trying to upload the files directly to the controllers directory with an external monitor.

How do I restore a backup image?

The same way you created it before starting modifications using the KUKA recovery usb stick. Just put the backup image on the stick and boot from the stick then choose the restore option.

You did create a backup image hopefully. Otherwise you need to reinstall anew starting with the Kuka install image then adding the KSS installation. After that you could try to restore a good archive if you have one. If you also do not create an archive consider it a lessons learned to never modify a running system before taking some backup to be able to roll back if necessary. At best be wise now and take an image now before setting up everything anew so just in case there is still needed data on the harddrive.

What you do have above seems to be only WorkVisual projects and no backup image. You can try to deploy these anew as soon ad KSS is reinstalled. From this point on you should again be able to connect using WorkVisual.

Not the best idea, doing that in short intervals, the battery will get drained. When battery is empty, the OS can be damaged during shutdown. Seems to the fact here.

You only can restore an image if you have created one with recovery stick. This stick you can buy from Kuka for small money:winking_face:. The normal backup (everyone creates over HMI of Kuka bot) is not an image backup.

Seems that you need help from Kuka service.
