    Hello,
Our company just bought 2 sets ABB 2400 Robot, I want to install it in upside down position.
But I don't know if it is equipped with Option: 224-2 Inverted or not?
1 - Where can I find the configuration of ABB Robot?
2- If the Robot is only equipped with: 224-1: Floor: should I hang it upside down?

Just read the manual, be precise looking for the mechanical unit version you have. Gravity alpha or gravity beta should be modified depending on position.

Make a backup of the robot. In that backup there is a a folder named BACKINFO, it contains a file named backinfo.txt. It will list all the options for that system.

The thing is that IRB2400 from M2000 version on, doesn't need for any additional option in order to be inverted, just a well done configuration..

Change robot's Gravity Beta value to 3,141593. You will find it on Configuration - Motion - Robot. Think about defining BaseFrame according to robot's position.

    In this backup file,
    only software options are shown,
    hardware options: cann't be checked.

    Sure.
I will change the Gravity value.

However, I would like to ask if the robot is equipped with Option: 224-2: Inverted, or not.

Because I heard: Normal robots when i hanging upside down: will not be well lubricated for axis 1

I have heard: you can mount Irb 2400 upside down without problems.

You have brand new robots, think you purchased them from ABB, so why not asking ABB? To be sure you should ask ABB.

In fact I already setup an Irb 2400 upside down, and I am not aware of any special option or problems, the robot runs for many years now.

You are using a real license and trying to add options you didn't bought.

What are you trying to achieve? Which is your goal?

Which version of robotstudio are you using?

Share a backup in order to understand your problem..
