digital inputs question

    I hesitate to ask this question as its so basic but I feel I've done my due diligence in searching the internet and the forum.


    I know one must provide external 24V to DOSRC1 and DOSRC2 to power the output driver circuit on the peripheral transfer board.... but is there any prerequisite to digital inputs?

    After configuring to rack 48, slot 1, start 1, I cannot get them to work and am having a hard time finding any answer as to whether I need to provide 24V or do any prerequisite actions to get them to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Is it required for DIs though? To save time, space and money I'd rather forgo an external supply, especially because I wont need the 24V, just the 0V as i am understanding you. I am of course probably incorrect in my understanding. Can you break it down barney-style?

    My current setup is this.

    0Vext jumped to 0V

    24Vext jumped to 24V-2

    Fence1 jumped to 24V-2

    Fence2 jumped to 0V

    Can I branch from either of these jumped 0V to SDICOMs? i do not plan on using Digital outputs.

    i do not have a fence circuit at this time. I also didn't wire this up I inherited this setup so please be patient lol.

    You need to connect the 0v of your robot to the 0v of the external power supply to create a shared potential. The sdicom terminals are used to configure if its pnp or non. If you connect 0v to this terminal yo need to supply 24v to the input to get a high signal and if you connect 24v to the sdicom you need to supply the input with 0v for a high signal

    Right now I have 0Vext pinned to my 0V external supply.

    The terminal next to it, 0V, is connected to SDICOM1. (Nothing is connected to SDICOM2)

    24VEXT is connected to my +24V external supply

    Checking my understanding, for a PNP sensor I should put the signal wire in DO101 and +V wire to 24V?

    I'm currently trying to setup I/O on a R-30iB mini plus controller and want to clarify a few things I'm confused about. I attached what is my understanding of the setup, yellow is the pre-existing connections, blue goes to a terminal block for 0V, and red goes to a terminal block for 24V.

    For CRMC24, is this correct that I should put 1-6 to an external 24V and 18-23 to an external 0V? I'm just trying to wire a button in before getting to anything more complicated.

    Also, am I correct in my understanding of the configuration: range DI[101 - 108] (for DI01 - DI08), rack 48, slot 1, start 1?

    Any help would be very much appreciated.

    24V-2 is 24V coming from the controller itself. If you are providing external 24V, then only have 24V-EXT connected to your terminal block for 24V.

    Otherwise it looks good.

    DI01 corresponds to the bit at Rack 48, slot 1, start 1. In your I/O-menu, you can choose to map this (and the following digital inputs) to what ever DI[x] you whish.
