Hello everyone, I have the following problem on robots model irc5. I'm creating rw5 systems from existing robot backups and trying to install on a flash compact that I applied x-start. However, when installing the new system, when restarting the controller loads the new system's loading screen, from that moment it hangs in the middle of loading and restarts to the bios without any system installed. I also noticed that after installing the system, none appear in the installed systems tab. I noticed that the rw of the backup being created was 5.13.10 and my rw was 5.15. I then tried to create the system from rw 5.13.30 but the same thing happened.

What do you mean by installing on a compact flash card? Did you remove it from the robot? You should be connecting to the robot with robotstudio or creating a usb install.

Have you tried uploading an image file to the controller using System Builder?

    ABB, FANUC, Hyundai, Kawasaki

Yes, that's what I did, according to the ABB manual, following the entire procedure. I tried to download the system builder and boot media with a pendrive and the same thing happens on both.

Canyou X-Start the IRC5 and see if there are already systems on the Compact Flash?

Also, if you are able to get to the Boot Application you could set an IP up for the LAN port and ftp to the CF and see if there is a problem.

Finally, if the CF is a clone, good luck. VxWorks (the control kernel) is very difficult to get working as intended.

You likely have a corrupted flash card. If you need spare cards we sell the 1 Gig models. Our robotics tech support can also preload your system on the flash card for you if needed as well if you can send us a backup or the keystrings.

    Thanks

Hello thank you so much. Can you give me more details on how to use the files? Should I just copy and paste into CF? Thank you again

ghost is a program that copies and writes partitions on hdd.
Put the NEW CF Card in the USB adapter and write the partition with the Ghost program.
Now you will have ONE bootable CF card for Robot Irc5.
The card will NOT contain any System, you will have to install it, thus eliminating the possibility that your Cf Card is corrupted

    BUY A NEW CARD
