What work related to industrial robots can be made freelance?

    HI everyone. I´m new in this forum. I want to learn about the super interesting world of industrial robots.

    My question is: can you work this freelance? I am a mechatronic engineer. But I have 0 experience with this branch. Is it realistic to get a distance job or project related to this without having programed any robot being present? I mean, only with online courses and simulation practices? If the answer is yes, what can I learn first to start as a "junior programmer"? What brand learning first? What brand does it have more demand or which demand is growing? I know there are many questions haha. Thanks in advance

    Approved the thread.

    one can freelance anything but you need training and work experience. each course is couple of thousand of dollars and takes a week in the classroom (training center).

    if you are going to freelance, you will need to be able to do some work from home. this means you will need to have a robot or a simulator. for someone starting from ground up i would suggest to work for robot company as a technician. this way you will gather tons of experience fast, instead of paying for training, you will be paid to sit in class and get trained.


    I worked for KUKA and there was bunch of courses:

    Electrical servicing
    Programming 1
    Programming 2
    Programming 3
    SimPro

    etc.

    2) if you have an issue with robot, post question in the correct forum section... do NOT contact me directly

    3) read 1 and 2

    Working this field as a freelancer would be akin to running before you can even crawl. I second what Panic says about getting a job with an integrator of some sort. Having other programmers around you will give you a bit of a safety net, a helping hand for situations where you would be just totally lost on your own. I benefitted greatly from this same scenario when I was just getting started in the field.

    HI thanks for aswering. Well maybe i had to tell you something from the begining. I live in Venezuela, and there are not many companies that dedicated to installing industrial robots here. I only know a couple, and they not usually hiring:upside_down_face:. If i decide to emigrate, What knowledge could I obtain to make my resume more attractive to companies that work in this branch?
