    Hello everyone.

My apologies if my question already has been answered, I have looked but couldn't find it.

So I'm pretty new at using Roboguide starting a few weeks ago so I'm still learning what features there are and how they work.

I have a file with over 100 programs because I made use of the cad to path feature. I kept going over the joint limits if I tried doing each feature of the part in one go so I had to break them in pieces to home (not sure what the right word is) some of the joints in-between. While I try to keep some order in my cell browser by naming my programs it's getting pretty cluttered, especially when I need to call on these programs in my main and subroutines.

So my question is: Is there a more efficient way to organize my programs in the cell browser and or teach pendant like creating folders or drop-down menus to make finding, selecting, and/or editing programs easier?

    Thanks in advance

Roboguide is not able to organize the files

For some CAD data it's possible but as far as i know it's not possible for programs

On controller you are able to manage the programs inside collections. This "feature" is used because the controller is not able to "manage" programs inside different folders.

BUT I am not a friend of collections and haven't seen that often in the wild..

Use a text editor like notepad++; vs code oder similar to edit your programs/calls.

RG robots always allow you to upload the ASCII representation of your program...

Maybe RG V10 will solve some of the limitations, but I don't know.

Maybe a third party product like RoboDK, or special "robot cam programs" will be a better choice than RG for CAD to PATH fetures....

How complicated is your path? If it isn't a crazy 3d shape, then consider writing the program yourself without using CAD to path. Generated code is always much larger than if you write it yourself, and generally messier too.

Thank you both for your responses.

the fact I can't order my my files better is a bit unfortunate but I have to make sure my naming is really clear then.

I will use this to edit my main programs, thanks

Thanks for the advice and info. I'm currently using a simplified model of the eventual part to practice on to make things a little easier for myself. Currently, it is a box with on all sides except the bottom a few of the important shapes that can be found on the end product. Most of these aren't that complicated in and of themselves. The fact that the tool needs to be under an angle makes it a little bit more complicated but I might try to teach them manually and see if it saves space. There is one more complicated shape. I have managed to bring the path on the outside down from 6 or 7 files to just 3 so that helps a little. The biggest problem is that this shape has 23 holes and each of them I have to do in 2 parts because I keep running into joint limits probably because they need to be milled under a 45-degree angle.

You could create a user frame offset at 45 degrees to make teaching your path simpler.
