    Hello guys,

I'm considering the 50E for an application and never had or programed one. Some people told me that the wrist is prone to mechanical failures and that the wrist/gears needs to be replaced every few years (3-4y).

This is very unlike the Fanuc we already own. It seems to me that this feedback from the 50E version comes from an unproper use of the robots with overload, collisions, and poor maintenance.

What is your opinion on this?

All the improper use you mentioned is very valid. Like the S-500 before it though, the 710 wrists do wear if they are run near/at capacity or have external influences such as water-jet backpressure or used with soft float at molds.

Just my opinion but I would not go past 35-40 kg.

Yes, the estimated payload is around 10kg.

    Thank you for the feedback!

The regular M-710 has a very solid wrist. The 50e is an offset wrist. I haven't used that particular variation, but it would obviously be less robust than a solid 2 bearing "shackel" design.
