Hello Fanuc Community,

now i'm working with a company in R&D departement and they want to open a new position for robotic and automation enginner in production departement and i feel like they want to give this opportunity. Also i got an offer in robotic and automation engineer in another company who work in automotive industry with a 18% of my actual salary. The problem in my actual company there is no one who have programmed a fanuc robot(all the project it was made by integrator). In the other company which from i get a new offer i'm surrounded with people who have work and programmed alot fanuc robot. Now if my actual company decid to offer same salary of the other one. Should i stay and i will be the person who will integrate or optimize the cell robotic but alone instead if i move to the other company there is alot of ressources. any opinion are welcome ( what will do you were at thi stage)

NB. i have some experience with fanuc robot and i know most of program instruction how to used ( i particed alot in roboguide) but i never done a project from scratch

For my part, I prefer companies with not too many employees, for example. Communication and agility often suffer as the number of employees increases. And it is extremely unsatisfying to work in an immobile juggernaut where one person doesn't know what the other is doing because there is a lack of communication.

A boss who programs himself (or at least has programmed before) is also not to be despised, because he doesn't have completely unrealistic ideas and can understand why this and that can't work and (at best) can make suggestions for implementation and sets (reasonably) realistic deadlines.

Ideally, you'll also have small perks along the way, such as getting time off at short notice / borrowing a company car privately / choosing your own hotel when visiting customers / ...

I have all this and “have to live with” only getting a smaller salary (which all in all is not great but not bad either).

But: all the money in the world is not worth setting the alarm clock off in the morning with the thought “now you have to go to this sh*tty place again”

Anyway: to me it seems having some colleagues with whom you can exchange ideas is definitely a big plus.

the problem is not only salary, i'm a person who is passionate to work with robot and also plc, actually i want change because i want to work only on robotic and automation field. Thanks for your opinion HalbesYoyo

the current company has roughly 200person while the new one have 500person, the where i'm now they want to start soing robot integration internally but the new one it's been a while that they doing the integration internally ( they use some advanced technology like IA and 3d camera) while with actual company we just started to work with 2d camera and was done by system integrator. Also if i stay here they want to give the fanuc training and also plc training because i will be the only person who will optimize/integrate solution

Now i'm working on different project, but mainly i'm doing now testbench design, devellopement of electric vehicule and some project management and a little bit of support on fanuc and kuka robot with alarm (just when robot have a problem). last i talked to my boss to mention that i have two offers both in robotic and automation field. and they gave my counter offer and they want to change my responsabilites to do robotic and automation job( in this company i'm only one who have some knowledge in company they also said if i need a training with fanuc they will send me to do it) . I'm someone who very passionate with robotic and automation because i don't work alot with that. i build a training panel at home (that includ two plc p1-550 and AB micro850, poweflex 4 that communicate with AB micro850 over modbus rtu, safety relay and hmi ) and also i have the access to roboguide to learn with robot and automation. i also create a channel to explain some subject regarding fanuc robot. i'm not an expert but i would like to be it in a few years that why i want to work in robotic and automation field here is a link of my channel

the first robot i was playing with was fanuc, i have followed training level1 kuka and i see that fanuc more user friendly ( i m saying this because i don't use a lot kuka robot) .
