My employer says they'd be willing to pay for a Fanuc programming course and I'm trying to find one best suited for my job. I basically need to be able to:
- Navigate my way around the teach pendant
- Recover from and troubleshoot faults, both electrical and programming
- Recover from crashes and troubleshoot the cause of the crash
- Teach the robot; make positional adjustments at certain points within the program
- Backup and restore lost or corrupt files
- Be able to find and make programming adjustments as needed
- Overall learn the programming terminology so I know particular functions are as I see them
The robots we use are more or less material handling in nature in that they are picking up and moving parts and/or EOATs.
Looking through Fanuc Academy's website, I see more than a few similar sounding courses but for more specific applications such as welding or glue application. Are there any such courses to meet my needs that are perhaps more universal in nature (as far as what job the robot does)?
I also see a mix of either online classes or in-person. Would an online class be sufficient or is it always best to push for an in-person one? (since the latter would need to be a bit more of a sell to my employer)
