Hey guys good morning, I've had this issue twice now but we can't figure out why it's been happening. We have a FANUC 120iB controller paired with a Rj3ib welding robot thats been blowing a 1A teach pendant fuse in the controller either mid-weld or at the start of the weld.

We've checked the teach pendant cable and the condition of the deadman switches and all seems to be well, so I'm not sure what else would be left to check, any help? Thanks

I would check the grounding between the robot controller, robot, welder and the fixture to start with. I've seen odd things when not properly bonded/grounded. Then I would verify the weld torch and wire feeder are isolated from the robot and controller.

Are we talking about the 1A MP10 fuse on the Panel Bd and if so - which one? I understand you checked the pendant cable, but did you swap it? Intermittent pendant cable issues can be hard to find.

Several times in the past I've seen bad torches that would very intermittently short the weld voltage to the HBK at a specific position and blow a fuse. Don't remember which fuse though.

Hey Skooter, thanks for the reply. Yep it's a daiso MP10, I'll attach a pic so you can see it

Have not swapped the cable but it's on the list, just trying to make sure I'm not missing anything before swapping a part.

Apparently the controller was missing it's ground, so that's sorted out now. I'll double check the weld torch and wire feeder isolation to make sure everything's alright.

    Thanks for the response!
