IF statements and touch sense

    I am working on a part that can have some pretty serious gap fluctuations depending on our break press operator. (It’s a square groove weld) Its why I put the touch sense in the program in the first place. For the most part the offset is enough and the gap gets filled no issue.

    I’ve been having an issue recently though where that is not the case and the weld falls through. Is it at all possible to use an IF statement to either widen the weave and/or slow the weld if the touch sense of off by so many mm? Or is there another option that I’m missing entirely? (Other than just beefing up the welds all together)

    I’m self taught, so be gentle please 😅

    If the touch sense only occurs during this program/process then you can create a background logic program that will control the speed of the robot depending on the result of your If statement. If you are using offsets to determine the weave distance you could use the same if statement to also increase the side to side offset.
