    Good day!

    I created a cell in Roboguide and uploaded a file from a robot we have at our facility to make it into a project. We have now added 5 new jobs and 3 more tool frames to this cell in person since this was done. The question I have today is how would I go about updating the robot files in Roboguide to the "live" version of the cell so its up to date and the Roboguide version and real version all match up. I don't really want to make a whole new cell preferably.

    Thanks!!

    How to update offline simulation with backups?

    You want the Serialize function.

    In the hardware tree, right-click on the Robot (not the controller), and select Properties. This will open a window with several options for that robot. Use the Serialize button.

    This will take you back to the original setup menus as if you were creating the virtual robot from scratch. You want to choose "Create Robot from Backup", choose the correct backup, and Click Next through the next menus until you can Finish.

    After…

    You have a few options;

    1. Serialize the robot. This is the same as creating a new robot in a Roboguide cell. However, nothing should change other than the software aspect of it.

    2. Restore AOA at controlled start. Similar to how you would restore a real robot.

    I don't see any major differences or drawbacks, other than the fact that you may not want to load specific files, in which case you can load the files that have changed (.LS, .VR, etc.) also at controlled start.
