Twincat and Roboguide

    I would like to connect the Twincat and Roboguide (Fanuc robots software) with each other. Both of them are on the same laptop and needs to talk with each other through Ethernet/IP. But I do not know how I have to configure the Twincat to be able to do it. I have done the part that is related to the Roboguide.

    I have followed this article to do it but no success.

    I have talked with Beckhoff and they said the computer needs to have (minimum) two ethernet adapter and they should be connected to each other by cable then we can make such a communication.

    Beckhoff is right you need to have a second ethernet adapter ( I bought an external USB one)

    Your first ethernet adapter must have the same IP address as in roboguide

    I only tried with Twincat as an Ethernet/IP Scanner and robot as an adapter.

    In Twincat : You do as you have a real robot. In the settings of the ethernet adapter you select your second ethernet adapter (the USB one for me).

    In the master settings you can set any ip address in the same subnetwork

    In the slave settings, you enter the settings of your first ethernet adapteur.


    In Roboguide : In the TCP/Ip settings you enter the IP address of your first ethernet adapteur


    Then you can activate the configuration with twincat and run it. If all is Ok, the status of your connection1 in roboguide should be "RUNNING" in the ethernet/IP Menu
