How often should the controller backup batteries be replaced. I cannot find a mention of this in the controller maintenance manual. I know they do not have a high drain application as the capacitors will remain charged for several hours after powering down, but I still need to set a periodic replacement for them. Would 2 years be an appropriate lifespan?

I saw a batteries can use for 5 or more years too but the best time is 2 or 3 years and check when it give you low batteries message.

Better to be safe than sorry. Batteries have a shelf life of 3-5 years and are good for 3-5 years. I change mine out every two years. Other equipment calls for two years so I do everything at the same time.

The controller manual will say 36000 hours. This is the same amount of hours it says the robot needs to be overhauled. Definitely would not wait that long.

I know a thing or two, because I’ve seen a thing or two. Don't even ask about a third thing. I won't know it.
