    Hello everybody,

a Friend of mine bought a Abb Robot irb6000 with an m93 control unit. The Robot was running and then there was a power cut. Now the Robot shows the Fault 13 (Robot not synchronized). I tried to fix it with the resync programm but every time I press the resunc button nothing happens. I tried everything and read the complete programming manual but I don't know what I should do next. Can anybody help me.

On the S2, earlier version of S3, the teach pendant had limit switches to ensure it was fitted in its holder. The robot will not synchronize if the teach pendant is not in position.

Has the S3 a similar position switch? I don't know.

Can you still jog the robot as normal?

There is a full set of M93 IRB6000 manual for download on this forum.

Likely the Serial Measurement Board (SMB) battery is bad. It is located in the front of the IRB6000. The wording of this fault has caused many over the years to press the 'SYNC' button.

The revolution counters need to be reset. To do this the robot needs to moved to be within the same motor revolution where the calibration was done:

Jog the robot to its sync position (where all 6 sync marks precisely align).

Go to Manual menu (hand symbol) and press 'NEXT' a few times until you see 'PARAM' - press, you should now see 'RESOLV' - press, now see 'COUNT' - press, see 'UPDATE ALL COUNTERS' and press' YES', now you must press the 'ACTIVE' key to save the data and reboot the system.

**CAUTION** Move the robot slowly through the programs to verify positions. Positions may be off if the counters were previously not properly set.

You are correct up thru M92 but the 'newer' and much improved M93 controller no longer had teach pendant holder reed switch.
