Hello guys, I have changed the gas cup on Pki500 tool on a IRB1400 welder and it seems too close to the part.
I was wondering if I could fix this with the RelTool instruction. Can it be done?
Thanks in advance

Maybe? Although just changing the tool data seems easier.
That said, the critical item isn't the cup, it's the tip of the wire. If the cup is too long, and the wire still reaches out to the same length, then using either of those methods will probably have the wire tip too far from the surface being welded. Unless you also change every point in the weld path....
You might be able to split the difference: change the tool data, and change the wire stickout length to match, while keeping the programmed paths the same.
To be honest, it might be easier long-term to just figure out why the new gas cup sticks out too far and fix that mechanically.

Agreed. One reason could be the length of the cup (nozzle). The nozzles come in 2 lengths - 71mm & 76mm. Perhaps it was previously using the shorter nozzle if the problem is length. If width is the issue, nozzles come in 24mm & 28mm.
Enio do you have a bullseye you can run it through? Typically see that as standard practice after a torch or cup change. If you don't have a bullseye, I would definitely look into it!
SkyeFire & Skooter are right on with their comments, as well.
thanks, guys, I will run the bullseye routine usually I do so but I was wondering if it is a valid option to use that instruction.

That instruction would (depending on how you use it) move the entire torch (and robot) further away from the surface being welded. If your setup can handle that, then it may be a valid option.
thanks guys
